Hi everyone,
I am in contact with a guy who is selling a Seamaster 300 ref 165.024 from 1966 and I am looking for opinions about the watch originality and condition. As far as I know, only the seconds hand is a service part, everything else is supposed to be original and the watch comes with a 1067 bracelet.
The price asked is just below 10k€

Hour hand looks pretty beat up.

Edit:

I looked again, and actually the bezel (if its a tritium one) looks very good. Dial also looks immaculate except for the darkening portion.

only concern is the hour hand.

At €10K I'd at least want even lume. Also check how many stretch links are on that bracelet....doesn't look like many to me

Yep, hands and indices condition is a bit worrying

You are right about the lume, condition is pretty sad, too bad.
No idea about the number of sprunglinks still present, how many are installed by default on this bracelet ?

New and full length would have originally been 10 stretch links, personally I wouldn't buy one that doesn't have at least 5 or 6 still present.

Thanks for the information about the number of links @cristos71, after a quick visit on the thread about vintage SM300m pictures (wow ! 😎), I am not going to make an offer to the guy, lume condition is too bad for the price.

I would pass at that price. It’s not a terrible example, but it isn’t priced close to its condition.

i would pass

the dial has no sexappeal
and the case 👎 on mine it is wider than the bezel on both sides 3,9 o'clock from a direct topdown view, which is here not the case
bracelet looks also very outworn

and as usual , there is always a better one out there👍

The color of the numbers on the bezel looks pretty bright. On my one they are darker

Hi.

If you are interested in a -64 trapezoid no date, I can send you a PM on it. It’s one of my watchmakers who’s selling it.

Thanks for you opinions guys, with such an unanimity I told the seller I wasn't interested, the lume on the dial, the hands condition, the colour of the numbers on the insert, definitely too much defaults for such a hefty price !
