I hhave the opportunity of buying this Railmaster. Any opinion or advice about what couls be wrong with it.

Probably TT lume which is normal for a RM 63.

Is the seconds hand correct? That is the main thing that looks a bit fresh to me

 

yup for me too. I thought there was a spear hand like on the sm300

Yeah all depends on the price. Hopefully more knowledgeable railmaster people will chime in. Do you have a picture of the crown?

 

I go see it tomorrow. If it has a mercedes crown, even better.

The movement shows rust. Was cleaned ,but could not be ereased. That much rust inside would massively affect the soft iron movement ring and soft iron cover. Therefore: the movement ring and cover here are aftermarket steel machined parts. A guy in Belgium sells these. So, no more amagnetic properties here and no longer original. Rest is fine , lume must be in lume Wells, which is hard to see here. Lume colour was likely matched. Value: hard to say from these pics. $ 14000 for a perfect one. This condition: minus 30% would be my guess. Kind regards. Achim

Are you asking for help from OF members to help you buy this before you subsequently try and sell it to us at a profit?

 

...but witout a movement shot since that isn't all that rosy
