Hi Guys,

I just purchased this watch and wanted to see what you guys think. Does it look original etc.. I spent hours looking but at the end of the day you guys on here are amazing and much better than me at this stuff. Your input and help is greatly appreciated.

Seller Says:

Omega 145.022 74 ST

Movement caliber 861

Amazing original condition - fully serviced.

Original bezzel insert. Watch runs perfectly.

No box/papers.

Movement number starts with 277xxxxx.

Movement number says it was made in 1968.

Also seller says its a 1969. With the serial 145.022-74 ST. Is this correct? I used the fretellowatches diagram and the serial # falls in place with 1969. However the "-74" in the 145.022-74 throws me off. Please let me know what you guys think. Thank you.

Watch unfortunately has some major issues and should be returned.
Movement is circa 145.022-68
Caseback says145.022-74

Looks like a put together

Sorry

Not original bracelet either. I only mention this because if seller’s claim of “amazing original condition” included the bracelet.

There’s a real mix of major things going on as Gemini says that raise flags.

How about the sales price
Original ‘69 would be about $7G’s
Mixed part watch, how much ? $3000 or less.....

Movement most likely swapped out with a Soccer Timer 861. Many of them in the 277XXXXX serial range.
Might have been a cheaper option than to service the watch at some point so they just opted for a movement swap. Other than that, the rest of the parts are correct/original to a 145.022-74 head with a later 1171/663 bracelet.

What exactly is a “soccer timer 861?” Haven’t heard that term before. Is it a movement that is original to the Speedy Pro, but somehow different than the “traditional” 861? Details, years manufactured, etc.? Just curious.

Here’s a ‘soccer’ timer (or football timer where I come from 😒) - a Seamaster with an 861 movement that you can use to time your nippers’ games...

I have a speedy that is about 400 numbers before this one if I’m reading the last 4 correct. My extract dates it to July 4, 1969. Mine came with a service dial.
