Looks good at first glance. Not the buckle, but the watch seems legit and in good condition. If you're happy with the price, it would be a nice watch for you. Value depends on a lot of considerations, but if you post the asking price, you'll get more feedback on that.

Sembra buono a prima vista.
thanks for the information.

@Dan S is experienced and competent, but if it helps you I’ll pretend I am, too, and repeat what he said. 😁 Nice watch, looking good. These cursive writing Genèves are still undervalued in my opinion. Lovely and elegant pieces.

Incompetent here 😉 and I concur: the case is not polished too much and the dial looks OK. Nice watch.

I’m not an expert either, but I own a nice cursive Geneve and this one looks fine to me. It just comes down to the asking price.

Hi @Soul10 , this watch looks very nice and original. I have one very similar but not as nice. Mine is a ref. 14703 with a cal. 562. These first gen. Genevas are quite collectible, here is a pic of mine for comparison…

If you feel comfortable with the price I’d jump on it! I think I paid ~ $800 for mine about seven years ago.

Hi,
I’m borrowing this thread instead of creating a new one. I found the same model as the OP and would like to hear some opinions on the one I found 😀

There’s a small mark on the dial left of the “omega” which doesn’t bother me. But the crown doesn’t look like OPs. Did Omega use different crowns for this model?
Thanks

It has the wrong crown, but the substitute isn’t a bad match. It’s almost impossible to find the correct crown for the early Geneve references now. Other than the slight blemish to the dial that you noted, the watch looks good to me. The 552 caliber is one of the best. I can’t really tell from the pics whether the lugs retain their edges, but if they do, I’d say buy it if the price is right.

The seconds hand seems too long.
Here is mine for reference, mine has the wrong crown too, still sourcing for one.

Yes second hand is too long, case appears to be polished too, but dial is nice. If the price is right, and you're happy, go for it - it's a nice watch.

just looking at this watch in the FS forum, and thought what a good value it appeared to be.
