Hi together,

I am new to this forum and kind of new in the world of luxury watches, so let me quick introduce myself:
My name is Luka and I passed the 30 years mark some time ago. About 10 years ago I startet to be interested in automatic watches and I purchased in 2012 a Longines Hydroconquest 41mm with a black bezel and dial with my first salary. So this watch has a lot of value to me and I really like to wear it. Recently I achieved some major milestones in my life and therefore, I wanted to manifest those with a new watch.

Two tone watches really caught my eyes and I started the investigation for a suited watch. After checking the most obvious option Rolex I have to admit, that at the moment I am not that interested in this brand (I still like the design and history). After visiting Omega I fell immediately in love with the Aqua Terra line, especially the combination of steel/yellow gold.

I received a really good offer for a Omega Aqua Terra 41.mm in steel/yellow gold, but now comes the "catch": the dial is champagne (Ref: 231.20.42.21.08.001). I like the champagne dial as it continues the mix steel and yellow gold, but I am afraid that the watch would be to prominent on my wrist. At the moment, I have not the possibility to try the watch on. Here are some pictures of the watch itself:

I am not looking for a everyday watch, as the watch should be something special. Now I would like to ask you guys if somebody owns this watch and/or about your opinions. I tried to find some material on various platforms, but I could not find a lot of videos/pictures on the wrist itself.

For me it would be really interesting to hear from you about your experiences/opinions about champagne dials on Omega watches, especially on the Aqua Terra.

Best,
Luka

Hi Luka,
Welcome to the forum👍

That's a truly stunning watch.
The package of that reference is great and if it's something you could see yourself wearing and enjoying when and as you see fit, then you should go for it.
They don't come along like that one everyday👍
If I were inclined to wear something like that, I would snap it straight up. It's a very respectable watch that one could have and cherish for a lifetime😉

The real pic is way better than the catalogue one. The dial is stunning, i'd definitely go for it!

I just wanted to add some pictures I found online of somebody wearing the watch (without perfect lightning etc). I hope this will help somebody one day like it is helping me 😀

It's a beautiful watch. Two-toned watches don't receive a lot of love. But, I think this combo is very classy! Just one opinion...

Looks really nice! I have had a lot of aqua terra watches over the year but skipped that generation as I found them bulky especially compared to the 2500 movement generation before them, I have a small 5.5" wrist so this matters. The pictures are beautiful though. I would try to see if you can find a used AQT from that generation to try on (likely you can find a stainless steel one to try on) to see if you are okay with the profile and fit. If you like that, and like the aesthetic, begin the hunt!
