Hi everyone,

I am new to the world of watches and I’m starting fall in love with Omega. I’ve always been more into smaller dressier type of watches rather than the bigger chronographs (other than the speedmaster). And I am looking to purchase an Aqua Terra 2504.50 or 2504.30.

I found this seller on Reddit on the WatchExchange subreddit who is selling a 2504.30 at a great price, $1700 USD. But I am wondering if it’s a scam or not.

The seller has good purchase history on the subreddit and has a shop based in Singapore. I haven’t seen one for so low though. The only thing I can think of is he listed it was missing some links (16mm length) but I can definitely source some links.

Here are some pics

I didn’t see the movement. Ask for high resolution photos of the case back and movement

1. I think it would be better to post all the photos here so we can access them easier.
2. IMO the seller delibrately cover the serial number on the case lug. That number should be identical to the serial number engraved on the movement (I can't see the serial number on the movement either because of the low quality photo). You should ask the seller about that

One more thing, there are 4 versions of movement 2500, which are 2500A, 2500B, 2500C, 2500D. The two last versions are better as far as I remember. I marked the places where you can find serial number in red and movement version in blue. So you can check it yourself.

Do you know how I can post them? Sorry, I’m new to this

Click those buttons that I marked by red circles and choose the photos (or links of photos) you want to post. Insert them to your writing

Here’s another photo the seller sent me of the SN. He said it should be from 2007 @hant26

Seems ok to me. But you should ask him is the rotor has a scratch or crack near the OMEGA script

Is it me? Or do the serial numbers not match up on the movement and case?

Ok so you think it’s authentic? Should I do it for 1700?

I see nothing that would indicate to me that the watch shows is not authentic.

If you should buy it or nit is a whole different question, and one I can't answer. The one piece of advice I would give you is that you should count on doing a service at Omega not long after you get this, no matter what the seller tells you. Then if the watch is good and it needs nothing, consider it a bonus.

I gotcha. Service is about $700 on this right? Would you say this would be a good deal if all checks out. No box or papers

I recognise this seller… pretty active on Singapore local listing site too. It’s a registered home business and I’ve seen a good number of well-priced watches from them before. Just one of the few 2nd hand dealers that actually priced stuff to sell

Do you think this is a crack in the movement? It has me a bit concerned. I’m not sure how much it would be to fix
