Hello, I novice on this forum.

I have this Omega Constellation 2852-8SC automatic mvt 505
Could you give me your opinion because it is not common. Fake?
assembly of several watches? price idea?

I can make other pictures with better resolution (it's with my phone)

difficult to see but "swiss made" is under the 6

Thanks for your comments and answers

Hi mate.

It is not fake, but sadly it has been polished to an extremely high degree, the dial has been redone badly and the movement... Well, at some point all the copper plating has been removed, leaving the brass base exposed.

I have a hard time seeing any value, sorry 🙁

Its had a hard life, thats for certain. But if you put it on ebay, i would expect someone would pay $400 or maybe 500 for it, on a good day ( if just for parts)

I think you could be right though I pity the one who buys this for parts... I guess if you had a movement and mediocre dial it could make sense to recase it with this one.

I think the Omega sign, the dagger markers and constellation star on the dial could be rose gold - Hard to tell from the photos, but i have seen watches where a dagger or two and the star have gone missing ( no idea how) so i think these could be sold off, either piecemeal or as a full set.

the medallion and the case back doesnt look too bad either

Weird that the medallion is so nice; IMO the rest of the case back is heavily worn. Normally, on even very worn examples, the text is clearly visible while it has been polished away here.

Agree, but looking more closely, it doesnt seem to be fixed right, its not dead centre - so maybe that is a replacement ?

Yes

a great thread to commit to memory if one wishes to know Constellations

You show a circa 1958 watch with circa 1970 fonts on the “Constellation”.

the straight legged “n”’s are a dead giveaway.

Welcome

thanks!!
