    Hey there,

I just received an Ulysse Nardin 10921-8 after pulling the trigger a bit too fast.

    - it is running
    - screwdown crown that functions
    - bracelet is aged (clasp loose)
    - the bezel does have a different tint (yellowish) which would confirm the material (WG)

Seems to be the same model as this one (https://watchcharts.com/listing/507...automatic-stainless-steel-jb-champion-ca-1970)

I'd like some opinion on the watch, dial is likely a redial (there is something off about it when I look at it, perhaps the dial is not properly centered or definitely redialed with indexes not properly placed) but I could not find any good resource on vintage UN. This could be a helpful to people trying to hunt the same reference (what not to look for, or what to look for).
Potential redflag I did pay under 600$ for the watch which might still be a bargain if I were to need parts (if they are authentic).

    Cheers,
    eph

Always nice having another auction website to the collection to try and find references, thanks

RN it is just sitting in the drawer waiting to be serviced before I enjoy it fully. I'll take some other shots tmrw (hopefully sharper).

I wish I just had a local watchmaker to open the caseback at arrival and check it first. So far no success on contacting Tahar (proheminent member based in Paris that apparently does watchmaking).

Here some additional dial pictures, I don't think I can do much better without a macro lens.

I remember seeing some members commenting about the font style of ''AUTOMATIC" being a big give away if too bold. But since I have not seen any other dial I can't really have an opinion.

Link to external album, perhaps better quality: https://imgur.com/a/MW4QNj1

my2cents: No one is going to redial this model. Except you buy it in the strets of Mumbai.
Be happy and enjoy! It s a cool dresser.

I do source my watches in Asia. As of right now I've been pretty lucky so far (let's call a cat a cat) but I apprehend the day I will not be anymore.
I could spend 2-4 times more the amount to source them from trusted dealers but then my collection would not grow as fast (and I easily fall in love).
+ we have a nice and VERY knowledgeable community. Never against learning something new ;)

It is a cool dresser! I wonder how a leather strap will look until I find someone to tighten the bracelet (the clasp has almost no resistance). I am already enjoying it just by looking at it, do not worry (one year ago this exact model slipped through my fingers and I've been on the hunt since then).

Will try to post movement pictures if I can find a watchmaker that is willing to do some extra work while taking care of my pieces.

36000 chronos are magnificent! I believe I only saw one FS in the past year, pretty hard to come accross.

When time comes, we all have choices to make and there is nothing to regret about that. I learnt from other hobbies and passions, I am now trying to make sure I'll never have to make that choice with watches haha. I usually get them after specific life events so they have even more meaning to me.

UN is everything a watch brand should be IMH, innovative (lots of prizes and patents, if not the most out of all brands back inthe days), is anchored is history with their connections with many countries' Navy, and managed to evolve decently through time.
I absolutely love the pre 83 period, before they got bought as well as their modern pieces. I just wish I could wear 42+ for their modern pieces which I can't :D
