You could always try shooting the case back off (carefully). 😉

@Peemacgee - Never apologize for a thread jacking. If you never hijack a thread here, you just aren't fitting in.

Encouragement duly note - but Isn't it a bit early to be hitting the bottle stateside?
Or has jwit got a Maine Coon as well? 😉

A razor blade will pop that case back open in no time.

Fixed. 🤔 This is what happens when you have multiple tabs open.

Why?

Hey, maybe you could go and spot ALL the thread drifting posts and have the mods put them all in one gi-hugic all-encompassing thread! Yeah! That's the ticket!

We wish you a Merry thread drift
We wish you a Merry thread drift
We wish you a Merry thread drift
and a Happy hijack

Sorry Mr Dog but that's clearly the wrong calibre for that case back.

I know you Dennis.
You hate and you don't work on your watches like some of us here.
On every single thread asking about DIY, you always come in with pics of axes or saws etc...
Time to make your own thread and leave it to us, the collectors who also enjoy doing simple things on our watches.
Thank you.

Hoi, I don't "hate". It's all in the name of fun and games, just a little sarcastic sometimes.

Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Try to have a better day Mr. Scrooge. Merry Christmas!

Well if it is it is it's too narrow to get my case knife in. Good spot though - my eyes clearly aren't what they were!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, I can't believe I'm saying this, but the one who lacks focus was very focused in this instance. 😲😀 Your knife is not sharp enough...

So for opening a case with a very small gap, I will start with a one sided razor blade:

You use this to act as a wedge (don't pry - ever) and open the gap enough to get a thicker blade in. Once you work the thicker blade in all around the case back, if the back has not popped off already, move to the next thicker blade, and so on. I'll say it again, don't pry to get the back off - ever.

Cheers, Al

Ever heard the story of the 9 fingered watchmaker? Most likely not, but it is a fascinating look as to why you do not use dual sided razor blades.
