Ok. I've already posted a civil response. Now how I feel This is fυcking outrageous. Terrible. What have we become when a young man, doing his job, amplified by a duty - the enormity of which few outside the Service could comprehend - gone just like that. Dead actually. That sort of gone. And why? Well that's a tough one and I have no wish to hit the hornet's nest. Respect for the thread. But to take an innocent life - socially commited and dedicated in the pursuit of it - well it's got to be a fυcking good reason. Or just a crock of shit. And I'm not going to apologise for the Anglos Saxon language either. It angers me as it saddens me

Every time anyone puts on a uniform they are risking their life for us. The circumstances of how they died aren't what make them heros. They became heroic as soon as they stood in the way. The courage and willingness to risk their life even for the smallest thing or least deserving of us show us by contrast how extraordinary is their sacrifice and bravery.

That’s terrible to hear. Being in law enforcement and a former instructor at the police academy I know how close we get to former students. Im sorry for your loss

So sorry to read this. My condolences. All the men and women who serve risk this everyday for us. Be kind to them and thank them when you meet them out and about.

I couldn't think what to say when I first saw this - a boy the age of one of my own. A family in grief. And I know the bond that grows between mentor and student. I hope OP Steve can deal with all this. It takes a certain kind of person to respond by putting the word out to just get out there and be kind. Will try harder.
