Is the 166.025 (date) or 165.024 (no-date) Seamaster "Big Triangle" more collectible and desirable?

Which one is more desirable/collectible/valuable? Do collectors value one over the other?

Debateable, collectors may like the no date more, but the wider group may wish to have a date. If the no date version is more rare then that may add to valuation.
For the above I would pick the no-date.

Why do I get the feeling this is heading in the same direction as the OP's "Holy Grail" threads from several years ago?

No date but the date does look damn good!

Interesting. Yours doesn't come with the cyclops on the crystal? I thought the date models all came with the cyclops?

Big triangle seems to be more desirable based on auction prices. Date v no date is mostly personal preference.

Do your homework and buy what gives you joy.

You see them with both though I think conventional thinking is that cyclops crystal is an Omega service part form the 70s as old adverts don’t show a cyclops crystal. Though I am not sure if people are certain on that.

I like the 166.025 with date, nice bit of color and funky hands.

I prefer the no date, tbh I’m not sure the markets cares, condition is the determining factor.

Hallo OmegaRolex
the no-date 165.024 was the Mil-SM300 of the divers of the British Special Forces in the 60s - 70s, before they turned to Rolex Submariner. (see att.)
Though yours may not have been shipped to UK, the watch has its fame!
For my daily wear I prefer the date, as I often have to check. But for a vintage watch the historic fame is much more important.
Greetings Konrad

Very nice watches! I'm not a fan of the fixed springbars, as I prefer a bracelet or leather strap on my divers.

I prefer the no-date on these versions, even on the Seamaster 120. The dial looks way more clean without a date, imho.

I think it certainly looks more balanced. However, when one is spending time alone with their watch, that balance does not always offset a key lack of functionality.
