On the cusp, I think.....

... of buying a Rolex Subc No Date. About a week ago I visited a Rolex AD in a small city, while on business travel, and found a SS Rolex Subc, with date, in the case, and knowing how hard these can be to find, at this time, I was tempted to buy it. After due consideration, I decided I was more inclined to purchase the No Date model and so informed the AD a day or two later. They replied no problem, via email, and that they would be glad to order me one when I was ready. Lo and behold, later that day, I received an email that they had unexpectedly received shipment of a Subc no date, that day, and I asked them to hold it for me.

So, my current watch collection includes thee Omegas -- Speedmaster CK2998 (2016 LE), Seamaster Diver 300 M, and a De Ville Hour Vision. I am very content with these three watches; that being said I thought my next watch might be a Railmaster (pending blue-dialed version) or a Panerai Due. But I have never owned a Rolex and now may be the time! Any thoughts?

Nice watch. Have you tried one on. I’ve had ceramic Rolex and always flipped them as I find the case a bit too square for my liking.

Absolutely no doubt they are a fantastic watch however, and if you like it then it’s a great pickup given the issues some are having getting SS Rolex currently.

The children come to you in their order, not yours, I think.

If an opportunity, a real opportunity, arises, then plans can change. For the opportunity may not arise again.

Good luck with your decision. Everyone here has been there.

stevec14 —I tried it on - but not fully adjusted to my wrist. I have a small wrist - 6.5 inches - and I tend to stick with watches 40-42 mm max.

save it for the Due.

you see an awful lot of subs on peoples wrists but not a lot of Panerai.

subsaresubsaresubs. marketed to impressionable middle aged men off the back of a couple of screenshots in 60's Bond movies.

the alternate argument of course is Sylvester Stallone. Though Panerai have moved on from Stallone but Rolex haven't moved on from Bond (a bit like Omega and speedmasters).

your choice of poison.

I just got a ceramic GMT a week ago to go with my own little 6.5" wrist, very comfortable.

Okay - here is a true wrist shot - first time out - en route to the Capitals-Penguins hockey game. It wears extremely comfortably.
