On a Tropical Roll...Interesting Dialed Date from '68

While outside of my focus, I thought this 1968 1500 Date was too cool to pass up. The case and 1970 bracelet appear to be unpolished and in amazing shape, and the dial is killer.

The gilt has turned into a galaxy, and in the right light there are reds, browns, blue, silver, grey...you name it!

A hard bigger to photograph, and will try to get some better pics.

Wow very very cool find. One of these is on my "Someday List". Someone mentioned that my grandfather's Connie dial looks like something from the Hubble Telescope. But I think this definitely one-ups it on a space-y scale.

I've seen different opinions on what represents "tropical", but I love the dial on my Movado HS 360 Super Subsea with El Primero movement. If tropical can include other than brown/and or Rolex, this would seem to fit the bill.
