waah they didn't make what I wanted who cares if they sold all of it I didn't want it waah

Why don't you write Omega and tell them what makes you enthusiastic? A company making luxury products cannot read your mind and make what you want unless you TELL THEM what you want.

I'm pretty confident that they don't read this forum.

Tom

Respecting the opinions of others is not your strong suit. I can see that. I have never claimed this thread was about anything but my personal thoughts. However, I am glad I have given you the opportunity to offer yet another useless comment on the Internet.

Instead of complaining like a whiney bitch, why not be proactive? Companies that sell products want happy customers. Write them and tell them what you like and what you want them to make that would make you ecstatic.

The only opinions that should be respected are the ones worthy of respect. You basically shit all over Omega because they didn't make what you want, and I called you out on it. It takes significant BS to make me respond like that.

Strive to be better.

If we look at things from a corporation‘s perspective (any corporation) nothing would ever be admitted as a failure. What I am saying is that they failed the speedmaster enthusiast community. At least they failed me.
I disagree, Coca-Cola admitted new coke was a failure

A thread likes this one is going to trigger folks, so the OP should not be shocked that there are going to be a bunch of members who see this as, basically, a complaint.

My first reaction was "like really, you're serious?" but I think it's helpful to see that there are people who want to share their perspective on Omega's approach. ...and it doesn't take long to realize that there are opinions around ceramic v aluminum...or sapphire v hesalite...or display back v standard back...or DON or not...

I think the OP gets it that this is not around business success. Selling out a model that you see as having design limitations does not negate the opinion. The Star Wars reboot made lots of money and by all indications is a success and there are plenty who criticize it.

I flip flop regarding the lack of overall innovation in watchmaking and usually have to stifle my nausea that is triggered by new pieces being basically the same as before but with a slight tweak (e.g, the GMT with Oyster bracelet gone and with the Jubilee bracelet back).

You sir, are enlightened man! It is a pleasure to be comprehended! An opinion is all I offered. I certainly do not discount the opinions of those who love the 321 reboots for what they are. I simply would have much preferred a truer version as the opening salvo of what is hopefully many 321 equipped watchers to come.

edit: as a matter of full disclosure I have nothing against variations of the speedmaster. I, for one, use the sapphire sandwich as my daily driver because it is more practical. However, it is not lost on me but the 321 is a special movement and it should have been re-introduced more appropriately.

The only answer I will dignify your post with is I hope if we ever meet in person you have the stones to say it to my face. However, I think you won’t. Bravado on the Internet is often the last refuge of little men.

Wow that went downhill quick. I don’t understand how talking about watches can become like religion or politics. By the way, what watch does trump wear?

Gentlemen, this is a watch forum that we all come to to get away from the rest of everyday life. Let’s take the high road and disengage. We’re talking about watches here and not life & death.

Wow seems like I missed a lot.

Seems like one member is threatening to shoot another over an opinion posted on an internet forum?

Escalated beyond reasonable. Some people don't like to be challenged and then keep pushing.

I sent him my address, if he ever shows up, I will take him to the tavern down the street with lots of good food and decent alcohol prices. For good or ill, a mixed drink in Wisconsin costs about 1/3 what it does in Manhattan.

I am going to suggest to the OF monitors is that what has occurred in the above post is a threat over the Internet, which constitutes a threat by wire, which constitutes a federal offense in the United States. This member should be reported to state, local, and federal authorities in his jurisdiction. He is exhibiting all the signs of a dangerous individual who is capable of harming someone. Please take these red flags seriously and report his post for investigation.

Please, god, don't be ridiculous. Yes, it was over the top and absolutely ban-worthy, in my opinion, but a federal offense?

Yes, I am so evil, I offered to buy you drinks and fish fry. Clearly federal offenses.
