The closest Swatch to me is in LaJolla. Got the Lava. Saw the Earthphase, but I already have mission to the moon and it’s too similar to me. They also had both of the Snoopy moonphase models as well as the Neptune there today.

I like this one a lot. Closest I'm gonna get to a radial speedy. Also, the color just looks right for a Swatch. I really wanted to like the earthphase but the gray just seemed wrong for a Swatch to me.

The duty free shop proved irresistible for my wife, but luckily they didn't have any more Omega or Blancpain collabs to tempt me. I hope this will be a gateway experience for her, but I bet my kid inherits her Swatch in about a month.

I've tried to make it happen multiple times and it never takes off. Perhaps Swatch will succeed where Bulova did not. This was my last attempt a couple years ago:

we are kind of at the point where I can't let her go into the Omega Boutique in Vancouver while we are there!

You know, we were just there at that OB and she didn't even bother to come in with me. Though... We did stop by a store that had several major brands and she did ogle the Grand Seikos with me. Maybe Omega just needs more textured dials and fancy words for polishing.

In other news, I have successfully taught my kid to read analog time and he's very proudly giving me updates about what time it is. So, now my wife will have to put up with two insufferable watch nerds.

Pretty well accepted the strap its delivered with is garbage, the OEM moonswatch strap is a game changer imo. Bit of a money grab from swatch but solves a large issue of the original
