·I think they should drop the facade and just call the series the "Swatch Side Of Omega" I said it before and I'll say it again, IMHO they should make a little bit more of an effort to establish or re-establish the omega marketing and brand value without necessarily cross breeding with Swatch. No disrespect to Swatch. amazing company and a good brand, but keep it a little compartmentalized.
I must say i'm leaning more and more towards other brands as Omega seems to be de-valuating a little. We used to talk about Rolex being too isolated and not innovative enough, now I kind of applaud them staying on brand.
I have had 6 Omegas and retain 5. Love them, but then all the color combinations start coming through, and the sides of the moon, and the 007 LE with all the gimmicky brand logos (I know that's not exactly a new development but...) Even one of the strongest steps they took, to bring back the smp300, they had to "beautify" it with the faux vintage lume, like somehow a new watch would not be enough to sustain sales (and who am I to judge, it's certainly selling) Now they will bring back the rail master and probably won't leave that alone either. By comparison a new Explorer 1 is still iconic and classic. When you buy it you're getting a new explorer, that looks new and will age with you.
Fortunately Omega is still working on horological advancements and I applaud them for that.
Anyway, let's see what else comes along
