I don´t normally comment on the modern stuff but I have to say that is very ugly and very unimaginative. I feel sorry for the people who paid big bucks for the DSOM thinking they were getting something unique.
You only have to look at prices for the DSOTM and the GSOTM now... today i spotted a GS for $8500! Omega have let themselves down imho.
I'm sure my wife and daughter would love one of these each. I won't be wearing one. I liked the one with the stainless case but no thanks to this.
And it seemed to be going rather well, for a while... Well, there's always a red side of mars to look forward to, that will fade with exposure to the blue side of neptune.
I hope they stop with the 'Side of the Moon' series after this one. Green/Blue/Brown Side of the Moon is just going to sound freaking silly . Max
IMHO the newer watches take nothing away from the original Dark Side of the Moon. Even with the Grey Side out now, my DSOM still feels special to me. Max
Very disappointing. The DSOTM was cool and unique when it came out. The GSOTM upped the stakes with the silvery finish and the gorgeoush platinum dial. This just looks a bit...plain and unimaginative. Shame really. I hope there is more to come from Omega.
Considering they've outed this now, it's a pretty safe bet to assume this isn't the show stopper. Perhaps a ceramic PO or some other ceramic piece will be revealed during Basel World. Max
I heard there was a ceramic PO coming. Now they own the factory that produces the ceramic i dare say there will be something else for sure!
I also saw Jomashop selling a GSOTM BNIB for about 8600 on eBay. If they can sell them for 8600, it shouldn't be too hard to find them elsewhere new for about that with stamped warranty cards. Omega could have limited the supply to Boutiques only and kept the market price closer to MSRP, but it looks like they've opted not to. Good for the patient buyers I suppose.
