Hi All,
Thank you taking the time to read this post. I purchased "Omega Constellation 168.017 with caliber 564" from user @sonicosa. Excellent seller and was a pleasure to deal with. As the seller mentioned in the FS post, watch needs a service before regular wearing and looking for a watch maker with Omega parts account in and around PA. I live near the Lancaster area in PA if that helps.

Thanks again for you time.

Not sure if Govberg Jewelers does in house service anymore, but they might. They're in the Philadelphia area. That being said, there isn't any reason to restrict your search to Pennsylvania. I'm in PA also and, depending upon what level of service a watch requires, I have no issue with shipping a watch to a qualified independent watchmaker out of state.

I totally agree with sending a watch, but it is nice, if there is someone local, to support them- provided they do good work (not mall battery kiosk dude).

I have also been looking for someone in the north east PA area for a while now. I found someone in the Wilkes Barre area that I will be trying out this weekend. I know that is kind of far from you but if you are interested I can tell you how it goes.

Thanks Greg. Will reach out to Goverberg tomorrow. Happy to send the watch as well.

Thank you. Around 50 miles from my place. Based on your experience this weekend I can certainly make the trip. Thanks again

I thought that you also had a guy in York? That’s right next to Lancaster.

@Skrv If interested, there’s a watch maker in Wayne PA who does good work

Yea I didn't have one in York it was Zimmerman jewelers which was a recommendation made to me by @gbesq It is 2 hours away and I wanted something a little closer but if that doesn't work out I might have to go out there. I would love someone in Philly since I could make a day trip out of it ie. go to KOP and look at more watches LOL.

RGM is in that area. I believe there have been some threads where people have brought them Omegas to work on.

Yes, Zimmerman's is good. They've been around forever and have three in-house watchmakers on staff and they're all experienced with vintage maintenance and repairs.

RGM is located in Mt. Joy, not very far from Harrisburg, the state capital. I've never used them. The service prices on their website are pretty steep for central PA.

Thank you very much. Can you please provide the contact? I am going to call Zimmerman and Goveberg today and will post an update here.

I've been to Govberg in Ardmore and they have a nice WM desk. I only went once and it was simply to adjust a bracelet. I believe you need an appointment to enter Govbergs (at least it was the case during the height of the pandemic). I recently bought some endlinks from them that the OB couldn't source for me.

I've used Peter Whittle at Whittel Watches in Wayne many times. He has a backlog of work so you need some patience. His shop is open on Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday. The rest of the time he's actually working on the watches! He does good work and has very fair prices.

Just finished talking to Govberg in Ardmore (Called their Philly store) and they asked me to contact their service center in Ardmore. They mentioned they have person working on Vintage omega's and will give me an estimate when they get the watch to him. Shipping the watch to them tomorrow. Will keep this thread updated once I get an estimate. Thank you everyone for taking the time to point me in the right direction. Really appreciate all the help you have provided.

Just got back home from dropping off two watches to the gentleman in Wilkes Barre. No store front and very small work shop but it was reassuring to see a line up if vintage bullovas, hamiltons, omegas, heuers and a patek all waiting to be serviced. Will check back in when I get them back to let you know how it went.

Perfect. That means lower overhead, and a focus on doing the actual work. 👍

Goveberg was supposed to send me shipping information via email and nothing so far. Will have to call them again on Monday.
