Omega Watch Identification

Hi All,

New to omega watches and wanted my first. I did some research and it appears to me this watch is a 14k GF wind up deville. Is my assumption correct? It is either fake or likely with a replacement case as there are no other markings. Is there anything else that stands out to you? Is $305 a fair deal assuming it is real? I will have to take the back of the case off to see the internals. TIA!

Given what I have been spending on junk watches and missing parts 305USD is a fair price for the sum of the parts. Movements are between 60 and 120 and cases tend to start around 120 or so.

The dial is a showstopper. Looks like it was drawn with a quill pen. Good dials can sell for more than complete watches. Trashed dials for as little as 35USD (I have one coming today or tomorrow.)

The hands on this are really wrong. Omega has a certain design asthetic, with over 170 or what ever years of history. The designers learn the house style, which is some of the best imho ever done. The more one studies the different watch faces the more one comes to appriciate this. Tag/Heuer also has some well laid out dials. Tissot as well. Ironically the big R tends to staid generic dials which many other companies copied.

Case looks like a front loader, which takes some special tools and skill to open. There should be a nice movement inside.

200USD would be closer (knowing that there will be that again in service costs or time.) Still price creep is happening, especially on these older examples where the better more desirable collectable ones are becoming harder to source.

The main thing is if it make one happy.

If I had this, I would probably replace the dial. Even a nice repainted one would improve the looks. Otherwise you have a candidate for the absolute worst redial ever.
