·So I picked up my Ultima from a service on Saturday. Unfortunately when it arrived the stem had broken off in the crown. Luckily I managed to nab the last golden seamaster crown my watchmaker had.
It's now running smoothly and been happily worn today.
I couldn't be happier with the watch, it's condition is fantastic, no dings or marks on the dial just surface scratches on the crystal and case, indicating a sparingly worn and loved time piece.
The watch wears really well, it's reassuringly weighty and the lugs are incredible; the 2 tone dial and hour markers aren't bad either.
I've been very lucky to pick this up as well as a rose gold grand luxe earlier this year thanks to a patient understanding forum member, which I will post the next time I get it out and wear it.
Whilst the Ultima is angles and curves the grande luxe pure curves.
Both incredible watches.
Infact I love that they are different and you are unlikely to see someone else wearing one. They don't have a celebrity associated with them or a nick name. They are not valued or purchased as components parts but as a whole.
They are just fabulous watches from another era.
One thing I have too disagree with @diso for the time being is my strap choice...
I've gone for the polar opposite colour and material. Infact I think it can be worn equally well formally with a shirt and tie or casually with denim and a sweatshirt.
In short it's too nice not to be worn.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
