Will do!

And a word regarding prices: I completely agree, there are bargains out there. It adds up though: I spent ~300€ on the watch including bracelet. Great deal - but then there's import fees, 125€ + tax for a new plexi, a service... by the time it's all done, this will be closer to 1000€ in total, serviced and in near-mint condition though. 😀

You and your mega deals! I'm glad I keep you on IG speed dial.

My thoughts exactly.

Great score again Matt!

But can I just put in some simultaneous love for the original leather strap version? I think it well expresses the "@bradurani" rules for a dressy watch if that's what you want it for, and it allows the fabulous case even more edge (pun intended).

These do look great as well, the head itself and the shape and angles is really what makes the Deauville cool to me, I especially like the 006 in the first post of this thread that has a cuff style bracelet with deployant clasp, its an OEM cuff bracelet from Omega that is sometimes seen on these but isn’t super common.

Great example you have there, love seeing more Deauville’s on the forum!

Just changed the strap. I think I like this combination (and the cat too😀)

My thoughts exactly. It doesn’t fit into my usual hunting pattern at all, but it’s so funky and different I’ve felt the urge to have one ever since I saw @LesXL s example in persona. The great article by @dsio revived that feeling, and I managed to find just the example I was looking for. Case, bracelet and dial are in incredible shape, it’s just the plexi that shows many tension cracks. My watchmaker has already ordered a replacement from Omega (which certainly isn’t cheap…), once it’s installed the watch will look almost new.

And some more to emphasize those sharp edges and the incredible contrast of brushed and polished surfaces:

Thanks Ash & Lester for the inspiration.

This is so nice! The low contrast of the dial, together with the bracelet, makes the watch look almost architectural.

How do you guys find the long lug-to-lug?

Bumping this thread with my recent acquisition. Took of the rubber strap it came and looking to pair it with something more suitable shortly. Really great piece that sits neatly on my skinny wrists 😀

There are so many interesting bracelet and strap options I’d be keep to see on one of these, the steel cuff type bracelets look great but I’d be interested to see it on some things like mesh or Milanese bracelets or even a Forstner BoR type.

So this is not a Deauville, but it’s a De Ville 551.067 with a very similar formula, 50mm x 21mm so similar dimensions powered by a Cal 66x series automatic but with an Andrew Girma style crystal that has facets to it and sits very proud. It’s on the list of pieces I’ll be writing about soon.

So , my Watchmaker came back to me and did ask for a pointing to the right split stem assembly. My research came up empty with the correct reference numbers for male/female stem. My missing crown seal left the connection badly rusted and nearly failing to pull out as designed. Anyone with an idea where to find these ? Or the parts numbers to order from the Factory ? Best to include the correct crown as well.... Thanks in advance. Kind regards. Achim

Those slightly weird pieces really get to me. Found another one that I couldn’t say no to, with the absurd combination of that angular case and Roman numerals…
Dark grey brushed dial that looks black in most pics. Not sure if I’ll keep both this and my example on a bracelet but they’re so cool.

I hope one else has dibs on it if you do decide to put it in the block. Let me know if you do please!

Nice article. I don’t mind admitting I do not believe I have seen this reference prior. I like the idea of the compressor cases as well almost bought a Hamilton compressor just to say I have one
