“The DeVille Deauville line of tank watches encompasses three of the largest and most visually striking tank watch designs ever produced by Omega in the 1970s. These were substantial, avant-gard designs in a similar vein to the legendary Movado Polyplan, watches that wrap around your wrist almost like a cuff, and having both size and substance.” [..]

Since this is about three watches in a family I should also add the other two references:

Very impressive looking watches when in mint condition with those razor sharp lines and sober, understated grey dials...although certainly an acquired taste I can imagine wearing one with a very flat, contrasting grey strap and a pair of wide flares :D

I looooove my Deauville (ref. 007).

The blue brushed dial goes from blue on day light to almost black in the evening.

The integrated bracelet tapers quite a lot which also softens the overall esthetic of the watch, and it doesn't feel you are wearing something chunky. As stated in the article, the bracelet reference is 1217/127

And it also has a "design" caseback with a very cool font

All in all, I find the Deauville has a "sophisticated elegance", compared to other more classic dress watches such as the Constellation models (from the 50s) or the cursive Genève model for example.

A sharp dogleg Constellation (ref 14900) would maybe sit in between.

But the integrated bracelet, with the sharp case angles and the minimalistic dial give the Deauville a real "je ne sais quoi" :)

So if you haven't noticed it yet, I'm a huge fan of this model, and I can only encourage you to join me in owning one!

Good hunt :)
PS: if you see a nice white dial one (007), let me know, I regret having not pulled the trigger on one a hear or so ago :(

Nice! I figured there must be a few owners around that we don’t see post them all that often. I think your model of 007, or possibly the blue Roman dial 006 on the handcuff bracelet would be my pick for myself personally. Hopefully the article helps some owners who don’t know what they have or have inherited too.

Just a question, I really like the Deauville for its somewhat quaint looks. I’ve seen one with shattered crystal and am wondering if a replacement can be get easily?

I wanted to add this here for anyone interested, a no reserve Ref ST 155.005 in very nice condition, blue dial for the first time since I wrote this a month and a half ago. Very interested to see what this ends on as these are really cool and unique Omegas that just went through to the keeper so to speak due to lack of awareness.

I'm hoping to add this to my collection ... we'll see how it goes.

Did you get it?

I did not. Went a little stronger than I was willing to go for mostly arbitrary reasons. I nailed another watch on the forums instead. lol

Over the moon with this one. In far better condition than could be seen on the seller’s pics.

Found my 007 this past summer, at a garage sale. Let’s go. An elegant keeper. CA304575-B778-4F25-B298-83F5ADDFA9B2.jpeg
Oh nicely done there, how much did you score it for if you don’t mind me asking? Looks like a very sharp unpolished case and a nice dial with a tight bracelet too, the blue dial with no De Ville printing is one of the less common ones too

Thank you dsio. The gentleman suggested $120, and I said yes.

That’s a hell of a lot of watch there for the money, nice pickup indeed!
