Andrea Foffi is a collector I had always associated more with Rolex, I began following him on Instagram many years ago after seeing his blue sodalite Daytona with sapphire bezels and since then I had been consistently surprised by the depth of his Omega collection as well, especially Speedmasters. Btw this is the first article we’ve posted but there will be a lot more, including deep dives on specific vintage references, stories behind interesting watches and more reviews and commentary. We did more of this in the very early days but never really had the right platform for it, thankfully now we do :)

A great idea to add this sort of thing to the site

And I have a copy of Magister - A giant heavyweight edition and I'd say a must for the Speedy nut

Andrea did well, I get the impression he clearly owns a lot of watch books and had a good idea of what he liked and what he didn’t when he planned this one out. The printing and photography quality in particular really stands out in that sense.

Of the 4 books we’ve spent the time thoroughly reviewing two are great that I would recommend including this one, one is mediocre to poor that I would miss and one pretty much sucks, but you’ll find out which over coming weeks :)

I've known Andrea since the early 1990's on the Watchfair circus in Europe ( there was a Watchfair every 3 weeks somewhere in Europe...) Great guy to deal with. His Omega knowledge started there. His book is a gem to have. The Photographs are like watching a Kid in a Lollipop shop....

Mmm not good…would be a shame to pirate a labour of love. Shiver me timbers!! One has to hope purchasers don’t do that

In this instance there wouldn’t be much point to it either, Moonwatch Only would be useful as it’s an informative and detailed reference book but this book goes a different direction with the photorealistic large scale printing, getting to see that up close and the detail it reveals on these pieces is the point more than any information it contains, so a digital copy wouldn’t really cut the mustard like the real thing anyway.

    Well,
I would be a buyer ….If a digital copy is ever produced by the team. Not sure if labor cost for such an effort makes sense, tho…
