Evening guys,
Just purchased my perfect timepiece today, Omega Speedy Sapphire Sandwich, mint and gorgeous exhibition case back.
My question is how many winds does yours take to fully wind it up?
I counted 30 winds when I set the time earlier but it wasn’t to to stop. Just curious as I don’t want to be heavy handed and over wind it.

comments greatly received
Thanks Simon

I never count the turns, just wind it until you can't wind it anymore, you'll know it when it happens.

From a depleted power reserve you are looking at 40-50 turns depending on how much rotation you are getting per turn.
You should feel it come to almost a complete stop when it is fully wound.

You're over thinking this. Wind it until it stops. When it stops you stop. Winding it at/about the same time is good. It's not a deal breaker though.

have fun

I'm a certain vintage myself, and used to winding watches, but it's fiddly on a speedy. Takes me over 40 turns from stopped. You get a noticeable resistance when it's fully wound.

Thanks for info, I’ve had it a couple of days now and 25-50 winds seems the ball park figure depending on wind depletion
