Speedy Moonwatch Accuracy

Evening All,

just curious how my 2019 Sapphire Sandwich compares with other Speedies.
If I’m not wearing it but keeping wound, I’m getting +/—15 seconds over 24 hours. I know she’s not a Chronometer certified timepiece and not coaxial, but my 1970’s recently serviced Seamaster is near +/-7seconds(50 years old), and my Luminox running a Selita SW220 is consistently +/-5 seconds.
Any thoughts or comparisons?
I’m not paranoid nor overly worried nor OCD But curious

What do you get if you wear it for a few days, that's the important number.

I set it yesterday morning and this morning was +8 seconds after wearing her all day yesterday, been on today and I’ll see gain/loss in the morning

Any way one looks at it objectively.
A consistent +8 result is a nice place to be. It could easily be fine tuned to be closer to 0 if one wanted it.
Besides +8 is within the specs for it.
In some ways I personally enjoy having these non hacking movements run a fraction slow. But that's just my preference for setting/managing it on a day to day basis as I just set them ahead of time and advance them again when I notice them being a bit behind. No backwinding required👍

mine is almost 2 years old. it has always run on the high side of the spec. never slower than +7 and as high as +15 a day. I wear everyday and wind every morning. This is a pretty typical sample of how it runs.

I get similar results with my 4 years old Speedy. And I'm happy...

My Speedy FOIS bought in mid 2019 currently runs about +6 seconds a day and I'm cool with that. It's well within specs. It's worn every day and fully wound up at the same time each evening.

Thanks for that as pretty similar to mine. Today I’ve checked and it’s +15secs after 48 hours

I'm getting about +2spd from my 2018 Pro, as before worn and wound daily, sat dial up at night.

That’s excellent

If you're not wearinging it at night, experiment with positions to keep it in check, I've found mine runs slower if I rest it crown-down, dial up just seems to be the sweet spot.

If it's bothering you that much, a local watchmaker could regulate it easily enough.

My 1863 bought earlier this year runs about +6 when worn, closer to +3 when left sitting dial up overnight. Averages out to about +5/day.

To regulate or not? My 2 year old daily wearer Speedmaster Pro has always run on average about 12 seconds fast. The problem is, there is no "slow" position for me. I took it to a local watch maker and he timed it for me. It was btw 9 and 12 seconds fast in all positions except, crown up was +20.

A few questions:

If it always runs fast in all position, is it a good candidate to regulate?
I heard if the case is opened it voids the warranty. Is that true?
Does Omega do any adjusting to try and get them more accurate when they leave the factory, or is it just time it when it comes off the line, and if it is in spec don't touch it?
Can you get it regulated at the Boutique and still have the warranty?
If not, can you ask to have it regulated during a service?

I can live with it the way it is, but if there is a way to get it more accurate, why not?

Thanks for your responses. I value and appreciate the knowledge available on the forum.

....

If I were you, I'd wait and then have it regulated on its first service done by a professional.

I've had a few in and out over the past three years.

Two Pros ran around +11 and +15spd, depending on position.
One FOIS is at around +3-7spc, depending on position. My more recent FOIS runs a little quicker.

None of the ones I've had are in danger of displacing my other Omega or Tudor or COSC ETA watches, but none are off-the-charts fast or slow really. I honestly don't think too much about it. Just reset it once a week if needed. I'd read up enough on the vagaries of the 1861 variants not to expect HAQ levels of timing, and as I learned on these very forums, positioning makes a big difference.

The issue with mine is that it's fast in every position. And consistently so. btw 10-12. It doesn't have a slow one.
