The pictures are not very clear, but it looks like the plating is wearing off the bracelet. I think you could get a nicer Speedsonic for the price. For example, this sold recently for much less:

The watch for 800 euros that you posted (I actually like it even more than the gold one) isn’t working, so we should compare it with working Speedsonics. The cheapest one I have for sale, without the original bracelet, is around $1,700 on eBay, and with the original bracelet they usually start from about $2,700 and up.

I got one offered locally a few months back, stainless steel in almost mint condition, for €1.6k. Didn't go through because I wanted it cheaper (so I could earn a bit on resale), but I've also had tuning fork movements fail in the past. I'd rather buy the watch dirt cheap to mitigate the risk.

Anyway, the model in question looks tired from the low quality photos. I'd rather spend a bit more on a stainless version in better condition.

I agree with you about gold vs. steel - the steel ones look better and have a stronger market.

"Working" versions may but be great either. I bought a working Accutron off eBay that had a poorly repaired coil and a bent tuning fork.

Love that model, but I agree with others that $1k USD would be as high as i would go. I will likely never find one that low either.
