Sorry

Apologies for not having been clear; I was just referring to the watch head. You’re spot in that the bracelet is quite wrong.

Not a problem at all and thank you. Do you happen to know the correct part number for the right bracelet / band for it?

As I mentioned above, you need a 1039 bracelet with 516 endlinks.

On the price chart, it is a -69 DO90 in Good condition. You're correct that the bracelet is not right for the watch. The classic bracelet would be a 1039 with 516 endlinks. There are a few other options that would be ok, e.g. Holzer or 1175.

Thank you! This is what I was looking for. I will check into it and see what the prices are, but one of them is going to be going to another family and I get to keep one of the watches. I have the other one here. Please see post here:

I am sorry if I placed it in the wrong forum. I do not know which one I want to keep. What do you guys think? Thank you.

That gold watch has a repainted dial. Personally I would keep the Speedmaster. But they are very different watches, so you should decide based on your own preference.

I completely understand what you are saying and that it is personally up to me, but I wear my watches and I have tree trunks as wrists so the Speedmaster is more my style. How can you tell that the gold watch has a repainted dial? I am curious. Thank you for your knowledge transfer. This forum is awesome!

this thread is a good starting point for vintage Seamasters. There is a lot of nuance to them.

Man oh man I wish I inherited/found a speedmaster like that. Unfortunately my parents/grandparents either threw any watch worth value away or simply bought only junk. As far as which watch to keep the gold seamaster has a refinished dial which significantly decreases its value. The speedy is much more valuable and has great history. I'd keep the speedy.

The printing is wrong. After a while you can recognize it pretty easily.

Does anyone have a Vintage Speedmaster 1039 Bracelet with 516 End Links for sale? I mean besides Price Gouge Bay I see only one listed so I thought I would check here first. Thank you all!

Doug, you're not allowed to make a want-to-buy post until you have 200 posts. However, you can keep an eye on the parts and accessories sales forum on this site.

I haven't been following prices recently, but they are not cheap. I think you should expect to pay $1500-$2000 for a decent one.

Sorry about that Dan and thanks for the information. I will keep my eyes open for one. I know they are not on the inexpensive side after what I have seen. Thanks again!

You may want to look at bracelet offerings from Forstner and Uncle Seiko. You can get a lot of the original look for a bit less expense.

Thanks and I appreciate the information and sites, but I am more for originality so I will pay for it. I know I have to pay to play. Thank you.

that’s right and a good idea. The forstner is really cool and part of the moonwatch story…
