I am interested in an older Omega Speedster "Broad Arrow" Reference 3551.20.00.

Can anyone share any timelines when this was manufactured, from when to when? Also, is there anything that you can share regarding the history, etc? Also, I see that they made the similar moonphase variant 3575.20.00. I know that there is also the 1957 version, but the dial I believe was silver, and the reference was 3211 if I am not mistaken....

Would love to know if anyone had some expertise on these that could share with me what the best one to source would be and why.

I have the 1957 version you mention. There are subtle differences between all the models you list, and some not so subtle.

The original you mention has the original non-coaxial 3303 movement. Mine and the other later 14 digit versions have the coax development known as the 3313. Note as you suggest the one you reference has a uniform cream/off white dial with blued furniture, the later 1957 has a variety of cream and silver shades and is rather more 3D in its appearance. I also have an Olympic Broad Arrow with a pure while enamel dial also with the 3313 movement. Pics below.

As for the timeline, think early 2000s for the Broad Arrow intro, with the '1957' coax version coming in around 2008 or so.

I'll post pic below but there are several interesting threads on the Broad Arrows on here that are worth a look, several started by me in fact. Note that the similar looking and very pretty moon phase in fact is not that closely related since it uses a development of the 861/1861 manual wind Moonwatch movement.

One thing worth noting is that when introduced the 3313 coax had some minor issues which were fully eradicated by the factory at service time. They routinely upgraded the movement from double layer 3313B spec to triple layer C spec at service time at no extra charge and still do. You can see the version on the plate on the movement. Any watch after 2011 or so should be C spec from new, but if you find a B spec it means it has never seen an official service.

These really are nice pieces, but then as an owner of 2, I would say that.

Here is a thread which covers these models inc the 1957:

And another about the Olympic version:

@padders Thank you very very much! I really would like to know when the 3551.20 started and ended in production. Finding one that is has a 3313C movement would only be gaurenteed if it was serviced by Omega, correct?

That model you show, the 3551 was in production from roughly 2002-2007. You won’t find one with the 3313 movement, that came later, all have the 3303. The 3313 Broad Arrow models like I show above ran from around 2007/8 to maybe 2014 or so but those look slightly different eg have the 1957 dial or are in some other way different to the 3551. The 3313 models often say Coaxial somewhere on the caseback or maybe dial.

Omega phased these out when they introduced the 9300 based models which are much bigger.
