My very first luxury watch which i bought for myself in Dec 2016, was a 1993 Omega Speedmaster. It had a 863 Calibre. Lovely patina. However, I couldn't get over the size 42mm size, and it looked huge on me (coupled with the fact that it was rather thick and i wore it on a zulu/nato most of the time.

So, I thought to myself, I'll never buy a speedy ever again. However, I discovered that Omega made speedmasters in smaller sizes too. Like the reduced version and the FOIS version which is 39.7mm

I feel the 40mm size is about as big as my 7inch wrist can handle (My wrists aren't wide, as I'm Asian)... so any recommendations?

Be careful FOIS wears even thicker than a regular Moonwatch imho. Maybe reduced is the one for you... and there's plenty of choices in reduced models range

(Might sound stupid but now I understand why reduced is so popular in Japan ::screwloose:: )

I realized wrist sizes dont matter if you have bigger arms. I wear my g-shock around 50mm, and it looks fine since i have bigger arms from lifting weights, not burger ;). My wrist size however is a measly 6.5.

Basically the same imho. IT's a19mm strap but uses the same bezel and dial. So it's the same size but looks slightly bigger proportionally in pictures. Most of the width change is removing the crown guards.

Haha I lift as well. 7 inch wrist but I think the flatness of the wrist does play a huge part.

I struggle to think of the Speedy Pro wearing too large on a 7" wrist. My wrist is 6.5" and it certainly doesn't look overly large to me. Do you have any pics with your old one?

Omega just released a line of 38mm Speedmasters. They have numbers on the dial instead of the traditional stick markers for the hours, but the stainless steel with either the metal bracelet or leather strap is still very traditional looking. That Omega understated elegance.

What about the 60th Anniversary / '57 LE? It's only 39mm and I think it looks amazing!

People have been having a tough time reserving these in non-USA locations. The OB in Atlanta is where I reserved mine and the associate there told me they still had subscriptions left for the Speedy. I have to wait until December to collect mine which will be an agony!

No, no! They are for sale worldwide, but people in the U.K. are complaining that no reservations are being taken. The OB I contacted in Hong Kong said "go away;" Bangkok's were all reserved for VIPs. People who worked with a US Omega Boutique or authorized dealer seem to have no problem. I'm based outside of Hong Kong and when neither the stores there nor Bangkok could help, I started trying my luck in Chicago and Atlanta. A guy from here says OB on 5th Ave. in NYC is also taking reservations. Paris Champs Elysee can take a reservation too! This is why I'm not totally sure these will sell out. They look so cool and the size is so manageable that I believe they will soon after arriving in stores and we will see our investment value preserved! Fingers crossed!

Oh I see. Haha I gotta try it though. The 39.7mm sits pretty well on me. Too bad there's no bracelet for it.
