What a nonsense question! Of course you'll have to pay on collection and not in advance.

And all those silly speculation about a Speedy presented at Basel World who will kill all ST reservations is another desperate try to console oneself. Get over it!

Deposits are common on some LE pieces upon ordering; in my local OB some CK buyers had to paid in full for their pieces months before pickup.

I'm not desperate for an ST at all, can buy the one separated on launch day if decide to do so!

More than 2,000 people all over the world reserved their ST. Did you notice someone been asked to pay a deposit?

I think you don't get it. The fact no deposit was required when the watch was released does not necessarily means no deposit will be required later (before delivery). Omega did not had a platform ready to request deposits onIine and as such did not did so back in January; suggest you read the complete post as this subject has already been discussed.

When is later? Do you really expect Omega that they will ask in April or May for a deposit? This is - sorry to say it again - nonsense!

I have an excellent relationship with the OB in Munich. I've been there two times since the reservation process of the ST talking about this topic. They phoned me to tell me that delivery of my ST via their OB has been confirmed. They never told me about something like a deposit to be paid in advance. Quite the opposite, they told me about how many customers have chosen delivery via their OB, expected time of delivery and what they have planned to make this a unique experience for me.

But you can still live in your own perception...

Sold my CK2998 to a local Grey last week for a price which I was happy with given I managed a 5% discount at purchase from an OB, prices are now softening on these all the time due to surplus supply and I just didn't bond with the watch anyway, bit to dainty for me truth be told .
One UK specialist offered me 3k lol!!
Once the 3 partners knew I had the ST reserved they were all over me like a rash for first dibs if I passed, they reckon it's going to be a big mark up on the secondary market based on their UK enquiry levels.

See I'm not buying it for resale, I'm buying it because its the most visually attractive and appealing new Omega since the 2005 Gemini IV LE, the Speedy60 would have to look better and cooler than the radial panda to get me to have even a shred of regret.

The silver snoopy is the most visually appealing speedy to me dsio...The white dial with snoopy and the luminescence is just stunning...Perfect size and retainability..I actually like the quote as well and the comic font..I may have preferred a cool bracelet but that's probably the only glitch...Limited edition and a collector buy...

There's dependable gossip /leaks around the net and if correct (most likely from history of source) the 60th anniversary speedy won't be nearly as limited as any of that pieces mentioned having over 3500 pieces... If that's the case I'm steering clear from prepaying at boutique and waiting it out.

I also think with the leaked reference and the 57 speedy aesthetics... It's already pretty clear what the watch will look like.

We will have to wait a few weeks to just see how true those gossips are... You are probably right...The only LE speedy that are probably worth prepaying was the silver snoopy and maybe the speedy Tuesday (time will tell on the latter )

Let's all face it there is going to be at least 1-2 LE released by Omega a year and Omega will also try to do something special to replicate the success of the Snoopy.

To say the Speedy Tuesday is just another Omega LE is pretty foolish considering it's a first amongst all previous LE with features such as a radial dial, reverse pandas, old crown, old applied logo, completely brushed case, old script. Forget about the hashtag for a minute, but there is a lot of first or homages to the past not done before. Plus a huge plus I've seen is that it actually (lookswise) ressembles a moonwatch but a has a subtle/not too in your face difference.

"Let's not forget 50 anniversary of Apollo 13 is coming soon"? Are you looking way too far ahead?

You know the 45 anniversary was launched only 2 years ago and only got to the public hands last year. Apollo 13 isnt until another 3 years. And who knows what they will do... could be a disaster (no pun intended).

Again there will always be more Omega LEs. To say not get a watch or wait to hype up on another LE is like saying to a consumer that you should wait for next years model car... always something new, always something different and better.

The Speedy Tuesday is fine the way it is and it will do better than many LE of the past. Weighing everything against the Snoopy is silly.

    So bottom line...
    speedy tuesday > snoopy?

Haha. Just kidding. This thread is getting so intense! Seems like a contest to see which LE is going to be the greatest!

To change things up a bit...how many people are gonna comfortably wear it? I feel like a lot of them are gonna end up being safe Queens. I'll be honest im probably gonna be super paranoid about it.

    It's such a beautiful piece!

For sure, I agree on those points as well.

And of course, how much individuals like a watch is all up to personal preference.

Ask me the same question of the Snoopy or Speedy Tuesday. I'll say the Snoopy as well.... been trying to get one for a reasonable price (for my standard) for a while.

But... they've done a good job on this LE and response has been evident with the majority of the community supporting it as well as those outright defending it haha. So to say people overhyping this watch might be off.... considering you have numerous media outlets, vintage collectors, new collectors, omega enthusiast, and other watch guys clamouring over it.

March 23 can't come faster so we can see what it is and of course if it was worth the hype... if not, well I can see the Speedy Tuesday get even more love.

Oh yea! The brushed finish will definitely be more forgiving than the mirror finish.

I think i'm gonna change out the strap immediately. I want a brushed bracelet...any recommendations? 1450? 1479? The newest one?

    I
I am going to wear mine. I can't see the point of buying a watch that is just sitting in a safe.( I wonder if lots of them become safe Queens, will worn examples be worth more in 30 years time .::popcorn::)

Exactly my reason too. I've had very little interest in any of the recent Speedmaster offerings including the Snoopy and I'm expecting the ST to be a very regular wearer
