Just emailed them and asked about changing the pickup location from Sweden to UK. I'll let you guys know how it goes 馃榾
Just a quick update. As of now, I still haven't received a response from Omega. I will try sending the email again.

Is anyone with a reservation intending on picking up from their local AD?

Not sure if I want it delivered direct or to give the guys at the local AD a chance to see it - slightly paranoid though that something will go wrong and they'll sell it to someone else in error!

I am getting mine sent to the AD where I bought my other omega watch. I trust them to take care of my watch. It might be as much as a month between the watch being delivered and me getting home to pick it up. I don't mind if they show it to people, or stuff like that just as long as it is there when I go to pick it up.

I'm getting mine delivered to local AD as it saves a long journey to London and, as mentioned above, a chance for them to see one of these in the flesh. Then again it probably won't be the only one they see .

That doesn't sound like a very good idea! I certainly wouldn't like my watch being handled/shown round and I'd resent any 'damage'/'wear' for which I was not myself responsible. I'm due to collect mine from the Bluewater Boutique and I'm trusting that what they'll fetch out to me will be an unopened package.

They probably see this as an unwelcome development, they will not want to start a stampede to the UK for collection by EU buyers although the issue is of their own making such is the price differential on offer. I would imagine they are thinking how best to kill this and ensure the watches are collected in the markets the purchaser resides in at the price agreed for that market. After years of being gouged in the UK on pricing this has been a welcome initiative which I hope is maintained!
My only fear with all this is they make an executive decision to "adjust" UK pricing to kill this arbitrage effect. I wouldn't follow through at any price other than the 拢4,100 already quoted for the UK market.

Yes, we've seen here a downside (the only one I can recall) of this Forum - the several people who've posted about the UK price differential, drawing attention to it: I wish they'd shut up and find something interesting - like the aesthetics of the watch - to post about. I notice too an increasing number of people getting anxious about the sales process for the ST and (probably) annoying Omega with repeated enquiry communications. Just sit back, be patient, enjoy the wait and stop attention-seeking!

Here a real life picture on my Speedy:

I too got mine yesterday. Good strap and very good service by the company indeed.

Looks good! How did you get your one so quickly? Or are we all getting them in the coming week?

They are talking about the strap, not the watch.

4100 british pounds is roughly $5100 USD, which is a $1400 USD difference against the USA market price of $6500!
I don't beleive am buying mine at USA price (plus 11 1/2 % tax), would have too to look for a way to buy it overseas

Looks great! Seriously considering getting this strap for my ST. Wondering whether to pick up a deployant clasp too, or roll with the one the ST comes with.

I've ordered some straps from vintagestraps.it for my ST as they can make them to the longer length that I need and were very responsive to enquiries.

I think these are the same that B&S sell (who didnt even bother to reply to my enquiry about longer length)

Something a little different....
