Yes, would have to agree with this. On an aside, I wonder if there are people still refreshing away...? Might be time for Omega to refresh their website with some uptodate information...
Aussies ?? No drama for me I was online when @Robert-Jan first put the thread on here and would have been one of the first to view it , and then logged onto omega and could have picked any number. Picked 1861 ( movements are my thing ) then sat up and watched the next 4 hours of Fun unfold.
It's a global market. If Omega are going to release at a given time, on first come first served, some people were always going to struggle with it being night time. Just so happened in this instance it was US west coast. Had to be someone.
Similar case. Been religious about deleting emails. Glanced at the email, deleted, and hit undo. It was right after the email landed and I'm in middle east, I tried 1977 but taken. Probably could have gotten a rather low number but chose birthday. Excited about this one! Sent from my EVA-L19 using Tapatalk
This complaining about the launch time has been beaten to death. Omega simply did not imagine that the watches would sell out in less than 12h. I am sure that if they repeat this online initiative they will work something out to make sure all timezones have a fair chance.
I really believe that the fine print is exactly that: fine print, and a formality. It's there as a catch-all, most likely to protect against a rare, but genuine screw-up where a wrong LE number is sent out. And second, to also protect against the case of watches being over-allocated. The most realistic case is wrong number shipped due to human error, but I'd expect that to be very, very unlikely. If it were to happen, I would expect that Omega would likely go as far as they could to correct the error. But if they couldn't, that catch-all is there. With regard to over-allocation, the most likely circumstance there would have been a website error at the time of bookings, where it simply accepted reservations non-stop, double, triple, 10x bookings for same LE number, and the sorts. If anything like that were to have happened, we'd likely have heard by now. Either directly from Omega, or from 100 members all saying "I got LE number 2012!!" So I think the family on here can rest easy.
The last 300-400 people probably all did too, its no big deal really what number you get just some have a slight personal preference that has meaning to them alone.
The last two digits are only 31 days off my son's birth day... That could work (note to anyone from Omega who might be monitoring this thread: this is a joke. I swear.)
I ended up going with a random number after trying my birthdate and birth year. Very happy with "my" number because it is mine! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I got that exact email from the same person. So safe to say that e-mail is computer generated to all people who got reservations.
The web page now has a waiting list, so if you didnt got a watch fill your contact information Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
