I'm guessing that the waiting list allocations are based on location. If a reservation holder declines, the OB contacts the first person on the waiting list within a certain geographic proximity. If I'm correct, this would be bad for West Coast folks. I assume there are few West Coast reservation holders given the time zone, so few West Coast OB allocations.
My first post ... Congratulations to the owners, and I'm looking forward to my first Omega Speedy Tuesday
Has anyone tried the ST one the standard issue Omega croc that's an option for the regular speedy pro? Still waiting and got sorely tempted to pick up an example of the new Explorer that I chanced upon, but I just about stood firm.
Well let's see. 2012 were made and I am pretty sure at least 12 have been delivered, so what does that make 1543 still for delivery ?? Omega has not released any figures and there is no registry so it is anyone's guess. Somewhere more than half and less than 85% ?? I know of one person getting theirs tomorrow
Hi Bill I too have a large wrist and my OB offered to order an extra long strap for RMLE, Speedy LE, and ST, and exchange each of them in the original color for no charge. You should ask them.
the way they respond to me they weren’t sure if it will arrive this month so it may possibly go to next month. Let’s hope not.
Finally got it. Pictures don't do it justice it looks 100% better in the flesh, with the exception of the strap which still looks cheap and plasticky. And a celebratory pint of Dark Vader
Very nice, congrats. I have only ever been there once, but I took one look at your dark photo (before reading the sign) and said ," That looks like York".
Please excuse me if this has been mentioned before in the past 191 pages but I would expect a metal strap for the money? I do think the watch it self is great but looks better on the metal strap. Always ready to be educated!
Yep you guessed it right and it has been brought up many times. As an expression of this there are numerous photos of the watch on bracelets both in this thread and others. The most often seen is the 1171 with 633 endlinks. Older bracelets have be used as well. Though I very much favor the 1171, I intend to use a handy 1499.
What is there to educate on, honestly? If they provided a metal bracelet the price would have been $500+ more. I am not sure how a certain price point means it should include a metal bracelet but I, too, am ready to be educated. The watch price is the watch price; provide more and the price goes up I would think. Now maybe if they allowed you to pick between a leather strap version and a metal bracelet version (with appropriate price adjustments) that would have made people happier, so you are not forced to pay for a leather strap if you really want a metal bracelet. You can get the regular Speedy pro that way, so it would be nice if they offered Speedy LEs this way as well (including xSOMs, etc. -- assuming there was a metal bracelet option that would work with some of the off-color LEs).
Personally I hate modern bracelets, and would almost certainly never wear it, while sometimes original straps are pretty nice (though not in this case - while it's high quality of course, it just doesn't look very good IMO)
Well I was beginning to have my doubts, but guess it had to happen eventually. Omega USA in Secaucus, NJ found my watch, where it was they're not saying... But today at 12:15PM,......... 736 and not afraid to say it
