Not excusing the ST mistakes, but sometimes we forget how Omega does treat us well:

My notes for the Speedy Tuesday: 10/10 for idea and desire to engage directly with the Speedy enthusiast community, 20/20 for the watch design (case, dial, crown etc.) itself, 6/10 for the OEM straps provided, 10/10 for the leather roll and accessories, and 4/10 for the delivery process...50/60... still a pass😀

TBH, It only seem to touch a nerve on the way this piece was sold/released, I just don’t agree with ordering online after building relationships with ADs over the years and then missing out on a piece that really is quite stunning. Luckily I managed to be reunited with one but I’m sure there are like minded collectors in a similar position that wasn’t quite so fortunate. Just to miss out to people less passionate about the piece but more a slave to the green

Again: Passion has nothing to to with buying al lot of Speedmasters. I know people just owning one normal Speedy because they are not millionairs but are huge huge enthusiasts!

Whether it’s passion or enthusiastic, we all have our reasons which makes it personal, and with collecting, it’s down to the individual and their reasons. Weather it’s colour shape or size, for historic reasons family or friends. Judging a stranger on face value will always be an individuals downfall. Somebody who uses monetary terms as a collection reason may well be their passion and who are we to pass judgement. Can’t remember when I last saw a “normal” speedy

I got a call from my OB and #1# is in. Had them ship it to me as I am at home helping my wife recover from surgery. Should be a fine day tomorrow.

Just had the call from Head of Omega UK, watch being shipped to my AD and should be with them by Monday next week. Asked about the delay and as I mentioned earlier in the thread it was down to the ST delaying production on the standard models and nothing to do with quality issues. Hopefully a wrist shot posted on Monday 👍

Pretty much spot-on. I missed the original cut and have bought one from a private seller at a mark up. I will not be trading or selling this watch. It is fabulous. The straps are a bit meh... , a problem very easily solved.

We are all so fortunate and have so much choice that we perversely expect things to be perfect or near perfect. People and organisations sometimes don't deliver what they promised. In this case it is not the product, just the distribution. Everyone will get their watches. Most will be very happy to ecstatic. A few wont.

It's been suggested that the dial is somewhat complex and the main reason behind both the recent reports of imperfect dials and the current delays. As I'm not a dial maker, I'm clearly not in the position to debate either for or against this claim. The "generous" lume application is not a first for Omega; take the 2015(?) Pitch Black for example:

Still in the case of the ST, there is the application of (sub-dial) plots on top of the lume paint making it perhaps a first for Omega (please correct me if I'm wrong).

In any event, I'm just pleased to hear that there's now a much better chance of getting a unit that will have undergone a more rigorous level of QA. 👍

Very good point. The lume on this bird is probably the most prominent I have seen in any of the Speedies in the past. An even application of the material is key.

I ended up quickly reconsidering my SpeedyTuesday allocation after initially declining delivery.

It kind of grew on me after seeing it in natural lighting - it's quite nice! A new strap helped too.

Unfortunately, under the loupe, there were two *major* quality issues - observable with the naked eye.

I won't list them here now until the OB has a chance to take a look and resolve the issue for me. It will very likely require a new dial.

This is a recent batch of watches delivered within the last 2 weeks. Be alert!

I don't see why you don't immediately share the quality control issues you identified on the dial. Some other OF members are receiving their ST watches right now, so knowing what to look for might help.

I feel as though I have lived and worn mine for so long through this post.
Yet it still has to arrive.

Picked mine up yesterday and it's gorgeous! It's been a while since I've been this excited about a watch. Looking forward to trying some more strap combos and the bracelet eventually. In the meantime, here are some pictures for those who haven't yet received the call.

I'd take the company line with a pinch of salt.

There have been quality issues... and fixing them is what’s slowed stuff down.

Combine those with the watch being assembled in house, but all the other parts outsourced (dial/case/hands...) and when things go wobbly. Well it slows everything down.
