I think, the joy killer for some is the fact, that others already got it... 😗
(no offense meant)
Don't let it be a joy killer! Why?? It's worth every minute, you'll see and you'll realize all the upcoming years - as soon as you get it...

I don't have a problem waiting.

I do have a problem with the lack of communication and information.

Contacting Arthur to find out very roughly when I might expect a watch (I asked to know which month so that I can make sure I have the funds to pay for it), got me "Watches will continue to be delivered into September".

That's not really acceptable as an answer.

Agreed, but it's about as good as it's going to get. September in Omega speak means Christmas time by the way.

Well let's hope I have the funds. 🤔

I've said before that people at watch companies are doing the best they can, but across the industry, customer communication sucks.

I'm not talking about broadcast/advertising/marketing, which they all seem to excel at, but actually talking with, and listening to the people who pay for the watches.

If I got an email saying:

"Hi Chris, there have been some delays, your watch is still coming, we're sorry that things are taking a little longer than planned, but it will be with you by November."

I'd be happier than I am now.

I've been turned down for marketing roles by the Swatch Group and Richemont, because I don't have "Luxury retail experience" - but in 10 years of marketing tech and IT, and through some epic PR disasters, I appear to be better at customers comms than they are.

Pfff.

I paid for mine while visiting the UK so still got it at UK prices. Will be a year or so until I get home again so will probably be the last to be delivered.

I worked for some premium manufacturers in a 35 year career in the Automotive Industry. I started in Customer Relations and later specialised in Retail Network standards/performance - all this with an aftersales bias. Throughout that time, despite all the advances in information technology/communication formats, it always became apparent in all sorts of issues, be they product failures and suchlike or positive marketing initiatives, that trying to communicate with genuine customer personalisation was impossible for a Head Office function. And with watches I sense the same situation and a similar problem in that the the organisation which should be in a position to communicate well - the Dealers - are themselves often not very good because of, e.g. turnover of staff, lack of training/development of staff in interpersonal skills and conflict between the short term objectives of a retailer against the longer perspective interest of the brand.

Given this experience, I am forgiving of Omega and I accept that with the model used to market the ST a clunky process was inevitable. I am due to collect mine from the Dealer at Bluewater and it will be interesting to see if that business can add value in how they carry out the handover.

Well my 1171 with 633 end links turned up today (This time last year I cared not for such things 😉 Regarding the wait, be patient my sons. Savour the moment, remember the anticipation. Yes the comms could be better, yes it sucks to see other people enjoying the luck of the draw. But Christmas is coming, and it will be so much sweeter when it arrives. Don't flip it, Don't store it, Take it out, wear it, review it, enjoy it. Oh and lets cut Arthur some slack from asking when our version will get delivered, what's taking so long and I'm going to the moon can I change my pick up point. Forgive the rhetoric, I'm just excited to get my bracelet and will be even more excited when I get my watch.

In the grand scheme of things I am happy Omega agreed to take on this project with/ for Fratello, and whenever it arrive will be okay with me. I have to imagine they needed to shoehorn this in with a production schedule that was already laid out.

Got the call today and dropped everything to go get it and all I can say is WOW. Was worth the wait as the watch is even better in person. Well worth the wait and Omega hit it out of the ball bark on this one as such a beautiful piece.

Yeah, for those waiting this watch is absolutely incredible in person and all these photos just don't do it justice.

Tried a couple of straps tonight, and ended fitting the supplied tan strap which I have not tried at all until now. You know what, it isn't too bad and is certainly supple and super comfy.

Photo please, not sure I have seen a pic in the wild, everyone else seems to be using bracelets or black straps of various types.
