I wonder how waiting list allocation will work. If someone fails to pay for the ST at the OB/AD within the time window, does the watch go back to Omega? How does someone from the waiting list get allocated the watch?
I think it's this exact thing that will keep the #ST flippers from making a ton of money right out of the gate. There are going to be those on the waiting list who won't jump on those listings right away if they have an ounce of hope that they may get the phone call from Omega saying they are now eligible to buy one.
Even if you did flip the ST for around US$10-12K, I just don't think the Daytona is worth its current overhyped US$17-18K price, at least if you are not close to pole position on an AD list to purchase at retail pricing.
Although a possible ST bubble might not last for ever, the current Speedy Snoopy bubble is still holding out 2 yrs after its launch, with watches being sold for US$12-13K.
I do see them as very different watches, and as @patmoon89 just posted above...at some time the Daytona will come down to retail pricing. If you really love the ST, purchase it, hold onto it, and wait for around 2yrs to buy the Daytona. You will have both watches and they will make a great combo😀
Bottom line: can't really see any motivation to flip a new ST purchase in the short term to purchase a non retail price ceramic Daytona.

Good question. I wondered this too. I read somewhere the AD would keep it and provide to their customers. Don't know how true this is.
Instructions in the letter that was posted to OBs say that the OB should contact Omega if a watch is not picked up, so that it can reallocated to the wait list.
Really what incentive would the OB/AD have for returning it to Omega and possibly losing the sale(s)?
Exactly - I'd say far too risky for the AD/OB. It only takes the original recipient to tell Omega that they aren't picking it up. That's not to say that a recipeint might not legitimately sell it to them I suppose.
Well if a given Omega VIP did receive their ST first (excluding the Fratello chaps of course), they were probably told not to brag about it.
Omega have been pretty clear on the Instagram post that Matt was the first Speedy fan to receive the ST. I think it would look a bit silly and go against all their "community" marketing they have been doing on this specific watch if a given VIP were to brag on his/hers Instagram/Forum that they actually received their ST before Matt.
