Well...

A certain company in the UK that always overpays for watches is currently offering a 2k premium on any physical ST watch.

If they are paying 2k premium they will want the return of that 2k plus another 2k.

And so it begins.

I was speaking to them last week on another matter and asked about the ST out of interest and they didn't know what their buying in price was. They just said you will make a profit, but how much they do not know. What happens when they have 10 in stock. At one point last year they had 5 Snoopy's and their buy in price dropped heavily.

the keyword here is apparent...
Well if a given Omega VIP did receive their ST first (excluding the Fratello chaps of course), they were probably told not to brag about it.

Omega have been pretty clear on the Instagram post that Matt was the first Speedy fan to receive the ST. I think it would look a bit silly and go against all their "community" marketing they have been doing on this specific watch if a given VIP were to brag on his/hers Instagram/Forum that they actually received their ST before Matt.

I sold them a different watch last week to help pay for this one

Actually there are quite a few people who have received their STs already. Just search the "speedytuesday" tag on Instagram and look at the recent photos. Some people are posting pics of theirs.

I've been thinking about flipping this for the Apollo-Soyuz meteorite dial... I'll wait and see how it is on the wrist though once it lands. You just never know with a watch you haven't seen in the flesh yet. It may well be a keeper!

Steve

Now that would be a tough choice. The Speedyorite was the only Speedy I've owned until now and I loved it and sweared we'd never part, but hit hard times and had to let it go. I'm hoping the ST will be a good replacement for it as I'm not sure I could settle for another Soyuz after having what I considered the perfect dial(they vary quite a bit).

Who?

One assumes Watchfinder. Matt has already posted that he was offered only £4.7k for his - so some discrepancy somewhere.

Yeah, definite discrepancy, mate of mine who missed out on the reservations and is on the waiting list asked them what they'd sell for and was told double retail.

From those with past experience, will an OB let you use two cards to pay for the purchase?

Yes of course, why wouldn't they!

That's because they will be charged two transaction fees one from each card issuer. If you just add a sum to cover that I'm sure they will be fine about it.

Yes but 3% of $3000 on one card and 3% of $3000 on another card is still 3% of $6000....
