Professional one hundred percent... I have 6 inch and pro fits fine... 40 mm or smaller the proportions just don't seem right

I THOUGHT as much, but was afraid to ask! Glad to know for certain.

Sigh...Get the Pro. Unless you want an automatic or slightly smaller watch. You will learn on this forum that you risk Death or Permanent Arm Loss due to the inevitable Mainspring Explosion time bomb on your wrist if you go with the Reduced. 😉 As for my experience with a Reduced, who cares... (26 years, no unusual issues). BTW, I usually wear it on the left, but I was at a brewery and naturally got to fooling around:

I've had a Pro since 2002, and worn it a lot. I picked up a 1997 guilloche dialed Speedmaster date (same case size as the reduced) at the tail end of last year... This is also getting worn a lot.

They're very different wearing watches.

The pro is a chunky solid tool watch, the reduced/date/day date feels a little more delicate.

Opinions are very much like arseholes, everyone has one.

The best piece of advice I could offer is to handle lots of examples of both... And decide which one is for you.

Or to have one of each to suit your whim of the moment. Works for me!

I would agree with everyone who said go with the Speedy Pro unless it it simply to huge for your wrist....I have a Speedy Pro that is currently out for service and I can't wait to get it back on my wrist!! Truly an iconic, lifetime watch!!

Pro! The reduced looks too small and unremarkable - that's just my opinion!

Thirty one posts in this thread, and twenty folks actually expressed a preference! And unanimously, they all opted for the Professional! A few with open minds own both Professionals, and a reduced or two. Myself included. I prefer the Speedmaster I'm wearing on any given day I'm asked for an opinion. Today (again) it's the reduced! I have a big wrist, and I don't feel it looks to small. Let's hear one for the reduced version!

Two very different watches... I think we have a fairly large case of Speedmaster Pro Blinkers here...
