Hi guys, is there any good reasons why you would choose speedmaster reduced over professional or vice versa?
Here is a really good article comparing them: http://www.fratellowatches.com/spee...ed-versus-speedmaster-professional-moonwatch/
Thanks a lot, I will definitely read it. So, what I am trying to get is people's feedback on these two watches and make a decision , either save up some more money and buy a professional or start looking for a reduced one.
Another vote for the professional! I had the Jpn limited version but found it too small. According to my regular watch dealer, the movement for the reduced was more problematic too; all based on my dealer's personal experience of course.
Owning one of each (both of which I wore on Thursday of this week), it's not so easy for me to pronounce which is "better". I wear the reduced a LOT more than the Professional, and I suppose it is because I don't have to wind it. But partly also being steel and rose gold with black dal and rose gold sub dials, it has a bit (well quite a bit) more bling than the Professional. Better? No! Preferred? Well, maybe!
I'd definitely take the Pro, so many benefits including ease of maintenance and a liquid secondary market if you ever decide you want something else. Its extremely rare that anyone buys the Pro and wishes they bought the reduced while the opposite happens a lot when people buy it because its cheaper.
After all, the watches we choose are always an investment in pleasure. My heirs will have to deal with divesting themselves of my "stuff" when I'm done with it. But in the meantime, I just enjoy my watches with no regrets for any of my choices! I've owned both my Speedmasters (Pro and reduced) for over 25 years, back when prices were such that most on this MB can only dream of, today! So there's little question in my mind that they are both worth considerably more today. If only everything I have spent my money on over the past quarter-century has been as good an investment as the watches I've bought over that time.
Wow, thank you for an awesome suggestions gentlemen.I think there was a good point about the watch size, professional should look right on my wrist, while reduced probably would look small.I think I will save up some more $ for a professional one.I don't mind winding it too.lolooks Thanks again gentlemen!
I own a reduced and Professional. However, The Professional is the Speedmaster to have in my opinion.
Your lower one isn't a reduced, its a Speedmaster Date, the reduced is strictly the non-date piggyback chronograph version.
