If you like the watch, buy it and enjoy it. I like the moonphase as well, as most watch the moonphase before I got my Speedy but I went with Speedy first. The moonphase, It gives you a bit of classic and luxurious look- imo. Also if I have more money, the new moon phrase is also gorgeous. I want one and buy it and review for us.

Another vote for the Aventurine...

Although the Master co-ax is "ON the List"

( but a personal OMEGA buying ban is in effect until after Basel)

Good Morning from Dubai!

People notice the overall look, say 'Nice Speedie!' then do a double-take when they realise there is a moonphase as well. I love that it is a bit unique.

I'm drawn to these too... but don't think I'll ever own one.

Two reasons:

1) The silver rings.

2) The sheer quantity of these available at heavy discount... that just sit there... and don't sell. That worries me.

Any chance of a steer towards the heavy discounts. I too am drawn to these and have been contemplating picking the phone up to my AD (where I think I could get 20% or thereabouts). TIA

Chrono 24, eBay, heck the AD in Heathrow Terminal 3 had one up for £2850 when I flew out of there in October.

OK, I know the sort of prices on C24, I thought you had seen an extra-super-duper-mega-deal somewhere. I am tempted to get one on a strap rather than a bracelet based on the Omega promotional pics. I wonder if Omega will fit a different bezel? I quite like the idea of a telemeter bezel.

hi Phil, may I recommend picking up a piece on the bracelet, and then buying the clasp (model no: 94521813) separately. The alligator leather used on the 3876.50.31 though beautiful, is much more expensive than their other leather straps made of calf-skin. With both the bracelet and the clasp, you can really make the watch versatile, to your hearts desire.

I doubt Omega would fit a different bezel, but should you be able to source a telemeter bezel, I'm sure any competent watchmaker would be able to make the switch. There are even a couple of videos on YouTube if you feel brave enough in doing it yourself!

Sorry I meant gator not leather. I have the clasp already, I got it for my Tintin but haven't used it yet. I also have a Speedy Tuesday reservation which I think will look spectacular on the OEM gator.0

Sorry to resurrect this post but this is really intriguing.
Is it a 3876.50 but without the rings around the subdials because they faded off ?
If so, did you remove them yourself or did it happen through time ?

I have this reference but I'm a huge fan of the 345.809 and I felt like the 3876.50 would look better without the rings around the subdials so if they evolve that way, It's actually super cool lol

This is a “Lewis” watch with a service dial. Agree that is is a better look without the rings. Sadly this was traded away.

Service dial you mean that If I need to get a replacement for my dial for this reference, they will provide it without the rings ?

Lewis Watch Company was Adam Lewis out of Australia.......He refurbished/remade Omegas until running afoul of the mother ship. He was/is a forum member and I purchased the pictured watch from him....all factory parts, just left the factory at different times. I have a couple of other Omegas with similar provenance. They are all excellent, but with small differences from factory execution, like a display back to show off the 1866 movement

im a fan of speedmasters. To the point where I'm on my way to a small collection of them.

The professional moonphase model has caught my eyes a few times. But something always keeps me from buying. Would like your thoughts in favor or against.
Love this layout so much. They had so much dial variety in the 1866 movement series too. Among my alltime favorite Speedmasters, especially the 3575.20

I photoshopped what a 3866 SpeedyMoon might look like:
