Omega Speedmaster Lollipop

Hi all,

I own an Omega Speedmaster "First Omega in Space," ref. 310.30.40.50.06.001.

I love the look of the original 2998s with the lollipop seconds hand, but these examples are well out of my budget sadly, so I’m thinking about getting one for the FOIS. I’ve got Gemini to do a couple of renders for me which I attach below. I’d like to keep it as faithful to the original 2998s as possible - how can I go about doing this?

Are there any companies or individuals that produce an accurate replica of the 2998 lollipop seconds hand and can be set on the 1861 calibre movement?

I know the 2016 CK2998 Limited Edition came with a lollipop seconds hand (albeit smaller), so would it be easier to acquire a genuine OEM seconds hand and have James Hyman relume this to match the faux lume of the FOIS?

Has anyone else done the same thing and can share photos?

Any input is much appreciated!

Many thanks,
Liam

It might be possible to do something like getting the Seamaster 300 Heritage lollipop hand and having it modified to fit by a watchmaker

That hand is probably the most accurate match, it's also not a specific LE model so likely not that hard to have ordered
I doubt that will work because the dial on the Seamaster 300 is substantially larger than a Speedmaster, and the seconds hand extends nearly to the end. So I suspect it will be too long to fit. Moreover, the lollipop on the Seamaster is just at the end, with no pointer on the other side, so is 1) not like the one found on older Speedmasters, and 2) not really suited for the chronograph functions.
