The CK2998 Blue Panda is reliably selling in the $7k range now (retail $6.5k).

I do not plan to ever sell mine, I bought it from the OB when they came out. At one point, a couple years back, I saw one listed at $5,250.

I am not one to speculate on watches, however, I have to admit to doing it once. About 5+ years ago I bought an Ed White. I still own it, I plan to sell it once I get around to creating a listing. But I have been saying this for 1-2 years.

I remember the days when you could get a used limited edition Speedmaster for under $3k. That was 7-8 years ago if my memory is correct. I enjoyed trading LE Speedmaster watches back then. Now they seems to be going for $8-10k. This is the main reason I have not traded/purchased a Speedmaster in 2 years.

Whether or not you ever plan to sell (but most every watch gets moved on eventually) a watch is an asset and needs to be treated as such. In the fine watch world $8-10k is considered entry level, there could be upside potential for brands like Omega in their LE offerings, past and future. A lot depends on how Omega plays it and the market's perception.

The thread on the 1957 Trilogy limiteds has nearly 821,000 views. Yup, you read that correctly. That should tell you something.

It tells me the thread has lots of eysballs, but the prices haven't changed much. Sounds like 800,000 tire kickers and looky-loos.

Omega drops so many LEs even speedmasters that the answer is likely going to be split across the board. Some folks will like some more and some will like some less.

I don't think this thread will be applicable in 5 years.

With the Ed White and the Snoopy both being limited "production" pieces, dropping the edition or numbered titles; seems like a transition away from the stick they have received for putting out so many limited edition pieces.

If I'm not mistaken, the latest 007 seamaster is not a limited edition either. Its actually the 007 edition and you are encouraged to "join the waitlist" for that.

Now with the numbered edition FOIS possibly coming to an end, it seems fairly clear to me Omega are trying to shake this running limited edition joke. Reality is, virtually nothing will change. Production numbers will likely be the same, over a similar time period. Its all in the communication and marketing.

But that wasn’t the question. So are all the LEs already made prices going up or down. 😉

Recently saw the Olympic Panda been sold online at a 50% markup of MSRP warranty and pictogram card included but without the original box.

Any advice on the impact of future resale value without the original box given the fact these are hot cakes at the moment?

I think prices are going to be quite volatile in the UK - if you look at the state of our ports due to the new strain of Corona found and the ports, flights etc all being shutdown into the EU and many other countries restricting flights - over 900 lorries stuck at Dover etc...and this is just the Xmas and pre-Brexit rush - imagine the situation in January when Brexit is added to that mix - what will be the impact of increased import duties for goods entering the UK and those we export into the EU etc...I think the UK will end up in a heightened price bubble due to limited goods able to enter or exit the country and when they do they will come with added taxes - I don't bemoan Brexit, but this is imho inevitable. As such I have made a few purchases this year and don't intend to sell them at all, but do expect their prices on the second hand market to creep upwards.

The ungrateful ex-colonists here in the US wish the UK well in these difficult times with Brexit and more importantly with the Covid issues.
