QUESTION to Omega Forums members...

Does the off-center aspect of the "12" versus the omega dial logo bother anyone? It bothered me more prior, but less so now, although I'm still straddling the fence... And yes, I am one of the ones awaiting delivery at an OP.

I don't have on the way, but even if I did it wouldn't bother me. The logo lines up with the "60" and I would say therefore it lines up as intended. I think it lines up with the "12" as well as a result.

wow, do you order through an OB in Chicago and have them send it to you in Oregon?... I should consider doing that...

Indeed. I tried ordering from the Seattle OB, but they didn't have any available. Chicago did so I ordered through them, and they even shipped it next-day air for free. Very easy to work with! Patiently waiting for FedEx now 😀

Sorry, don't feel it.

It kind of reminds me that Simpsons episode when Homer designs a car...

There's an arrival thread that has been started. Hope you'll share info like in the ST2 Ultraman arrivals thread ...

It seems that these watches still sell for a very high profit margin on the secondary market? I really like the watch and design and would be happy to purchase one to be my 'everyday watch'. But it seems that this special release, too, got hijacked by speculators who don't even wear the watch. Guess I'll go for a MK40 then - they seem to be priced a bit lower, although I like the cleaner dial of the Hodinkee edition.

Then I would also try to get a 3520.53 or 3820.53.26. Really nice watch for a good price. I am very satisfied with my.

It's a common problem. I feel in situations like this, that buying an alternative is the best option. Personally that is easier if the said watch is so far away from what I could afford, such as the snoopy or a gold moonwatch 50th that it does not register on my radar.
Its annoying but no point wasting energy on something we can't change. (Apart from everyone refusing to pay the inflated price....never going to happen)
Hopefully you will find a reasonably priced alternative

Precisely! Instead of buying the Ultraman, i bought the hesalite regular one. I am sure in term of numbers it is a more rare LE than the rest. Just count how many LE are there in the range of Speedmasters only. Pulsometer, Ultraman, Tokyo 2020, Hodinkee - more than 15 000 pcs! And surely i missed some.

Gotta agree with you, I have a Hesalite Speedy that I like so well, I just traded my new Seamaster Pro for a Speedmaster 38 Coaxial because it's automatic and has a date, and primarily because it so resembles a standard Speedy. Of all the LE's I like the White-faced variants (Italian?) best, of the current selection the only one that speaks to me is the GSOM, truly beautiful but waaaaay to large. I guess if you keep producing various LE's, each finds it's own market. The Hodinkee, to me, looks like it was designed by a committee, lacks the elegance of the original, but hey, to each his own, they sold out.

Well I wasn't meaning to imply that you intended to flip it, but it sounds like you didn't really like this thing all that much after all.

If you want to try one out as a summer watch, might I suggest going and buying an actual Mk40 for less than half what you'd pay for this? Advantages to that are a) you won't have to wait until November to try it on and b) if you don't like it, you'll probably be able to sell it for what you paid for it.

OTOH I have a feeling these Hodinkee Speedmasters will meet the same fate that the blue CK2998 Lollipop met (and that the red CK2998 Pulsations looks like it will) and have trouble selling above $5k on the boards
Just got offered 5700 usd for a mint one.

Spot on buddy

Always fun to look back at older posts and see if anything changed. I will say that after nearly two years the blue CK2998s seem to be selling strong, around $6,000 and up. The Hodinkee ones are all over the place but I’ve seen them go from $6700 to $9500.

I see them priced at about their original MSRP of $6700 or so, but they sit and sit and sit.

Which is too bad, cause they're actually very attractive in person, and could be a great pickup at regular used-FOIS prices

Maybe someone should do a performance analysis on all of the limited edition Speedmasters released after the 45th Anniversary Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy Award. ::stirthepot::
