At this point, we can't be too far away from "design your own Speedy".

There's a lot going on with that watch - not sure how I feel about it.

I thought it'd be Speedmaster considering Ben Clymer's collection and his grandfather's piece, but then their Instagram account posted that photo of a pair of UG's. This is very nicely done.

Says there is 1 left. Also, said boutiques were also selling them? Perhaps it's just Hodinkee's stock that is out.

    Glad I didn't hesitate.

I've only read a handful of articles on Hodinkee (pretty superficial; not my first choice for well researched detail). I've seen a number of their interviews with notable collectors (always very interesting). This watch is ... what I might expect from a watch designed by Hodinkee. It seems to hark after the Jedis, the Seamasters, of the 70s. Perhaps we could call it the Darth Mauled Speedmaster?

It’s not a watch designed by Hodinkee - it’s a recreation of the watch Ben Clymer received from his grandfather. It’s a re-issue not a new design....

I would have bought one in a red hot second, of course sold out long before I clicked the "BUY" button. Too bad... at only 500 sold I'm sure these will be bid up far above my pain threshold and so will never be within my reach.

Like I said, I think this is very nicely done for what it is. Better than the original it's an homage to if you ask me. I prefer the dial layout, color choice and hands. I also love the case size as a FOIS owner (watch I'm wearing today). Grabbed the discounted Davenport strap in navy which is what I'll be wearing it on. This like my Skipper will be a Spring/Summer piece.

I was on and refreshing 'til it popped up. Had a look at the pictures and read part of the way through before pulling the trigger. Sold twice as fast as the Skipper.

Anyone looking to get one I'd get on the waiting list just in case.
