Omega Speedmaster help.....

Hello everyone,

I have recently purchased an Omega Speedmaster 105.003 65. I’m thinking it needs a bit of work! No box or papers, I’ve done a bit of research but need some help. The bezel is obviously not in great condition and the dial has a few marks. Where would you recommend getting a service and refurb? Also any other information or things anyone notices about the watch would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Very nice one, second Ed White today 😀

From the pictures I'm not shure if there are marks on the dial, could also be on the crystal.

Very good facets on the case, the watch looks very original!

Aim is to preserve everything (possible) in original condition when servicing!

May I ask what you paid for this one?

Based in the UK, purchased it at auction recently. It all looked original so took a chance!

Fantastic thanks. How far should I go with the work? New crystal? Source a new bezel? Dial refurb? ‍♂️

A new bezel will cost nearly what you paid for the watch 😉
And I will pretend you didn’t say dial refurb ( never think or say it again 😗 )

Simon will know what to do. Leave it to him.,

Haaaaaa I would of course not dream of a dual refurb! Just testing! The bezel is in pretty bad condition but obviously a new one would probably be cost prohibitive. I will contact Simon and have a chat. Most importantly I would like it working perfectly and to keep it as original a possible. Is it worth getting the extract from omega?

You do know that it has 6 end links that are a major score.

So get it serviced as we want to see the inside caseback.

Yeah, those end links are worth about 50% of the price you paid for the watch. You did quite well at that price.

If I were holding this watch, I would get the movement serviced by Simon and leave as is. The bezel can wait for another day.
