Hello to all of you.

I got my first Speedy, a 94 Date with a 1152 calibre that my dad originally bought as his personal watch. He has now passed it onto me, and my first call was to get it serviced. In the official service (not Omega themselves but a Swatch and Omega certified one) they told me to wait 3 months and then see how it was running, since he basically took it apart completely. Well, after three months it is running around -10spd, Is this normal? Would you take it back in for the warranty?

Thank you for your time!

It’s a non-chronometer but still people typically want their watch to be slightly fast if anything, if it’s been serviced but is running consistently -10 per day then you could take it in and ask them to regulate it, it shouldn’t take long and as long as the watch is consistent that will bring it back within range. They’re very good watches these, will last forever and serve you very well.

The "wait three months" business is basically BS, IMO. They were just hoping you'd get accustomed to the watch running slow and decide to live with it.

Hey! Thank you very much for your answer! It is consistent, -12 to -10spd in the week I have been monitoring it, which is why I was conflicted if taking it in was the move or not. I will give the service a call tomorrow and make an appointment then, thank you!

I have to say, my dad abused this watch in an insane manner (saved his hand from being obliterated by a flying piston out of a hydraulic system). There is some pitting in the dial, and some other scratches, but honestly, I think it gives it character. And still consistent (even if slow)!

Have a great day!

Honestly since I had now experience I preferred to ask the experts. I will keep it in mind for next time! Thank you!
