uhh isn't that dial not correct for a 2915? the Minute subdial lines look a little more like a 2998 dial as the 2915 had smaller marker indicators.

Could any early Speedmaster experts confirm this? The seller is a decent guy but he doesn't know about the history of the watch prior to buying it. Is it a scruffy sleeping beauty or likely something else? Thanks.

Look at this 2915 dial which the minute sub dial the indicators are a bit smaller and ride the step down more

This is another one where u can see how far the lines go on the step down and this is a 2998-1

IMO Dial is not original to a 2915-2.

So the OP dial lines are all the way to the edge of the curvature instead of being more of 2/3 - 3/4

Agree, this dial is not original to the watch. In my humble, and not always right opinion.

Agree.
O should be flat, among a lot of other dial tells.
Minute hashes in 30 minute totalizer should short of the step.

I dont know how to reply. Surely there is some variation on the dials. They cant all be perfectly alike..can they? Im an not a watch person, Im an antique and art dealer. This was a lucky find at an antique mall, bought it for nothing $20, in a vase with a bunch of Seiko quartz etc. . Lets see where the experts and others lead us. All opinion are welcome. Mike C

Wow!
Top marks for honesty.
Hope you get the answers you're after.
And that you and a buyer can both come out with a win.

Watch is for still for sale. My buyer backed out, he wants a confirmation - from you guys - as to exactly what this is. The price is firm , unless i can be convinced its not all original .
