Hallelujah

Some people will finally get to see what is steel and what is gold

The others get to see the new LE 50th moonwatch!

instagram/twitter is a little slow for Omega today - if anything I thought Omega would be really going for it today!

While we wait for the big reveal, I'd like to offer a mod to the excellent render provided by Longbow:

My sense is that when we mention the Lunar Explorer in the subdial we're not talking about the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM), a machine, but the actual lunar explorerer, a man.

I'd also hope that for $9K+ the medallion on the back would be gold too...

Nice rendering! Thanks!
(The movement is maybe rodium plated?)
We'll see soon...

The event is 14-16. Tomorrow is the big day!
Hope they don't do the big announcement at 20:17:40 UTC. I'll probably still be asleep which would be a bit of a downer after 51 pages of this thread. 🙁

That medallion doesn't look right in this format... and how/where would it be applied?
Etched in the back crystal or directly on the movement (bridges!?).
Hmmmmm.... only a few more hours of excruciating wait. 😉

Lovely rendering, but I would be very surprised if they put that Omega logo on the seconds sub dial. I think it would be a huge fail and so far Raynald and his team have hit the mark pretty well in terms of delivering good commercial designs.

I still bet on the LEM in the seconds subdial and the footprint on the back as the medallion. I am very curious as to how the blue will be worked on the dial.

Well only a few days now to go...to be honest I have actually reached a stage where I am more interested in the under the radar / stealth releases Omega might be rolling out beyond the hyperspace-hyped Speedy 50th.

It doesn’t need to be etched it can be done like on the Globemaster.

All the available information points to the crown and pushers being steel and a lunar module will be in the seconds subdial, other than that these renders look nice

Got bored of reading...need something to look at.

Glad to see were getting past all the bickering and back to really cool hypothetical renderings!

unless a 321/3321 movement is fitted, the 50th anniversary watch to be released appears to be very ordinary and colloquial to me, in the category of all past anniversary speedmasters.

If they put that logo on the watch, it's one more reason for me to pass...

I've not decided if I will keep the watch or not, if I like it I'll keep it, if not and if the market indicates there will be a profit it will be straight off to Watchfinder.

There’s a slight problem with putting that logo at 9 o’clock. You forgot to include the running seconds hand. He’s going to look pretty well hung for half the time and jolly excited for the rest.

Nice, hopefully they either saw that and made a change or know this isn’t going to be good.
