Many thanks for all the lovely positive comments. My grandmother is 107 next week so perhaps I will see the 100th anniversary in person? If not, my kids will have a nice collection to build on (or sell!).

107! God bless. Hopefully you got her long life gene component.

Congrats to your grandmother and also on your watch. Looks fantastic.
That was a long wait! Congratulations! You’ll have to do a review 😉
Will certainly consider doing that although much has been said about this watch already. I will try and add something with my own perspective on it perhaps. One thing for sure - it is definitely a keeper.
I wonder how many gold Speedmasters Buzz has got?
By my count, a minimum of 3 :
- the original 'tribute to astronauts' from 1969...
- the 50th anniversary reissue of the above piece (as pictured in the previous post)...
- at Starmus V when Raynald was handing out the Starmus awards (gold Speedmasters) Buzz was onstage with Raynald, and he made some comment (something along the lines of 'I deserve a watch too'), to which Raynald simply smiled, and handed him one...
To all the lucky Goldie owners, I'm curious what accuracy you've observed. Being a Master Chronometer I believe caliber 3861 is rated up to +5sec deviation...it'd be interesting to hear how this stacks up to real world results...bonus points for timegrapher data
