Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary in Gold – Breaking News

I've been wearing mines sparsely since I got it and it feels very special every time I put it on my wrist. I love winding the crown, it's so tactile and has more "feel" than the stainless steel Apollo 11 despite having the same movement. The gold bracelet does mark quite easily though but life is too short to baby it.

Great news. I'll also be interested to hear about what was wrong and what they did to fix it.

Looks gorgeous but I prefer the gold/steel 😉 I had the opportunity to scoop it up at my local AD. Should have pulled the trigger 🙁

I could easily imagine that this is not the type of info that Omega would like to publicize too much. In any case, I am glad that this was quickly resolved. I am sure this job had VIP and priority status in Bienne. 👍

The gold/steel honestly seems readily available, and at no significant markup, if any at all.

Readily available where? There may be some unsold ones floating around but I don't think most people would be able to walk into a dealer and buy one. The cheapest grey market one I've seen is $10,925 in the US (MSRP $9,650).

When the stainless steel one was announced, I phoned around 15 different AD/OBs to put my name down. I got calls from five of them, some I was quite down the list, so they aren't exactly hard to get if you try.

Exactly, grey dealers have it readily available at a price that one would pay in any Omega boutique... once you include sales taxes. Premium is very low, if any.
But let's get back on track, this is the thread for Ms. Moonshine!!! 😁
